A motorcyclist has opened up about the terrifying moment he was sent flying into the air and found himself covered in blood on the opposite side of the road after an alleged road rage crash.

Harley Robinson, 25, was on his way to a friend’s house last Saturday night when he became involved in a “dispute” with the driver of a blue Audi on Thompsons Road in Cranbourne, in Melbourne’s southeast.

Police understand Mr Robinson had pulled up alongside the Audi and argued with the driver before the crash.

Speaking to news.com.au, Mr Robinson conceded he “punched” the driver’s two side view mirrors after the Audi drove towards him and became worryingly close.

“I was in front of all these cars … (the driver) chose to overtake a car and stay in my lane coming toward me … I was about to jump off my bike and go into a side barrier.

“I chose to do a U-turn and follow him. Eventually catching up, I punched his passenger side view mirror then his driver’s side view mirror. Then the horrific (incident) happened.”

The dispute quickly escalated with dashcam footage from a nearby Uber allegedly showing the Audi driver speeding up and crashing into Mr Robinson.

The 25-year-old could be seen flipping in the air as he was hurled towards the other side of the road, before colliding with another vehicle travelling in the other direction.

The 21-year-old Audi driver, from Clyde North, stopped after the collision, police confirmed.

Mr Robinson told news.com.au the collision “happened so fast” and he quickly found himself on the other side of the road struggling to move or breathe.

“I tried to get up but was unable,” he recalled. “Some lady told me to stop trying as I could hurt myself even more. I then looked at my body and there was so much blood and I could not move.

“I could only look straight. There was so much blood. The pain was a 10 out of 10.”

Mr Robinson said he’s grateful to be alive after the accident, which left him hospitalised with a broken pelvis.

A GoFundMe set up for Mr Robinson said his “severe injuries” has meant he is unable to train in kick-boxing.

“The impact of this incident has been profound, and Harley is facing a physically and mentally challenging road to recovery, which can be life changing for a young 25 year old,” his brother wrote on the fundraiser.

“Not only did he lose his beloved motorbike, but he also sustained severe injuries leaving him unable to train in his lifelong passion, kickboxing in which he’s journeyed to Thailand and gotten a Championship belt in Muay Thai showing he’s a true fighter. Along with this we’re facing mounting medical bills and various expenses.”

A photo shared by XFC Gym Narre Warren on social media showed Mr Robinson lying on a stretcher while wearing a neck brace in hospital.

“His road to recovery will be long and painful, but we all know how unbreakable Harley’s fighting spirit is,” the post read.

Dozens rallied around the kickboxer, wishing him a speedy recovery.

“This is so devastating to hear. Sending much love and strength to you and your family Harley, to get through this challenging time,” one person wrote.

“Stay strong bro, we’re all here rooting for your speedy recovery,” said another.

Police confirmed investigations into the incident are ongoing. No charges have been laid.

Mr Robinson remains in hospital where he is recovery from his injuries.

“I am in pain, this is obvious but mentally I am getting through these difficult times,” he said.

The 25-year-old said he wants to see police take action against the accused driver.

“(They) don’t deserve a license or more so freedom with a response as dramatic as that.”
