Terrifying footage has captured the moment a Melbourne motorcyclist was sent flying into the air towards oncoming traffic during an alleged road rage crash.

Harley Robinson, 25, was riding down Thompsons Road in Cranbourne, in Melbourne’s southeast, about 7.50pm last Saturday night when he was involved in a “dispute” with the driver of a black Audi.

Police understand Mr Robinson had pulled up alongside the Audi and argued with the driver before riding off.

The dispute quickly escalated with dashcam footage from a nearby Uber showing the Audi driver speeding up and crashing into Mr Robinson.

Footage shows the 25-year-old flipping in the air as he is hurled towards the other side of the road, before colliding with another vehicle travelling in the other direction.

The 21-year-old Audi driver, from Clyde North, stopped after the collision, police told news.com.au.

Speaking to 7News, Uber passenger Liam Knoppien said: “I went into panic mode straight away.

“I got a quick glimpse of him when he was on the ground and he was moving but after that I couldn’t really see what was going on.”

Mr Robinson was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He remains in a stable condition.

A GoFundMe set up for Mr Robinson said his “severe injuries” have left him unable to train in kick-boxing.

“The impact of this incident has been profound, and Harley is facing a physically and mentally challenging road to recovery, which can be life changing for a young 25 year old,” his brother wrote on the fundraiser.

“Not only did he lose his beloved motorbike, but he also sustained severe injuries leaving him unable to train in his lifelong passion, kickboxing in which he’s journeyed to Thailand and gotten a Championship belt in Muay Thai showing he’s a true fighter. Along with this we’re facing mounting medical bills and various expenses.”

Mr Robinson also reportedly lost his phone in the incident.

A photo shared by XFC Gym Narre Warren on social media shows Mr Robinson lying on a stretcher while wearing a neck brace in hospital.

“His road to recovery will be long and painful, but we all know how unbreakable Harley’s fighting spirit is,” the post read.

Dozens rallied around the kickboxer, wishing him a speedy recovery.

“This is so devastating to hear. Sending much love and strength to you and your family Harley, to get through this challenging time,” one person wrote.

“Stay strong bro, we’re all here rooting for your speedy recovery,” said another.

Police confirmed investigations into the incident are ongoing.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
