American police have launched an investigation into the attempted bombing of a Tesla showroom in Texas.
Fox 7 Austin reports that police rushed to the Tesla dealership in Austin after staff discovered “suspicious devices” on Monday morning.

Police said “when officers arrived on scene, they located suspicious devices, and called the ABD Bomb Squad rto investigate”.
“The devices, which were determined to be incendiary, were taken into police custody without incident.”
The dealership was the subject of a “Tesla Takedown” protest on the weekend, when it was picketed by people protesting Elon Musk’s “takeover of the government”.
Images from the scene show one protester with a sign calling on people to “Unalive the billionaires”.
Protesters are rallying across the country at numerous Tesla Takedown events to protest against Elon Musk and Tesla.

Local resident Jeromy Sonne posted on social media network X that “there are cops and tape everywhere”.
“Like feel how you want about Elon but know you’re also messing with the people that live near these things especially families with kids.”
The Austin incident follows widespread arson and vandalism to Tesla showrooms and vehicles in the US and beyond.

Tesla owners have posted on social media warning protesters not to damage their cars.
One, celebrity actor Rob Schneider, posed in a gun shop with a new rifle purchased as an “arson protection device”.

Austin City Council member Krista Laine released a statement in response to the incident.
“I am incredibly thankful to our APD officers for their prompt response to this incident and quick resolution ensuring that no one was hurt,” she said.
“I strongly condemn any action that puts the people of Austin in danger.

“No matter the motivation, violence of any kind is unacceptable.
“I am deeply relieved that no one was hurt during this incident and am in discussion with APD Chief Lisa Davis about how to ensure our residents’ protection in the case of future violent escalations.”
