Beer lovers from around the Darling Downs and Sunshine Coast descended upon Toowoomba’s Fitzy’s in a celebration of all things brewtastic.
The nine hour event hosted at Fitzy’s in Margaret St spilt out into their carpark, as patrons had the opportunity to test more than 100 types of local brews, play games in the beer garden, and listen to some of the best musicians Toowoomba has to offer.
“It was a really fun, laid-back event,” organiser Anita Armanasco said.
“We were really humbled to have so many people come out and choose to support the local, small breweries despite the challenging economic climate.”
This year they decided to scale back on the size of the event in order to make it free, she said.
One highlight of the day was the tin-hurling competition, which quickly turned into a nailbiting last-minute competition which enraptured an audience of merry beer enthusiasts.
