I thought pregnant people were being dramatic until I got pregnancy karma

"Now I know they were not being dramatic enough."

People scream as heavily pregnant woman is blasted for using pram parking bay.

Like many things in life, you can't truly understand something until you've experienced it. Pregnancy is one of those things.

The hormones, aches, and downright weird things the body does to grow a child are amazing - and can make you feel like crap.

One mum-to-be, who goes by the 'The Jess Tayls' account on TikTok, has posted about not fully comprehending the impact of pregnancy on a body until she was well into her first trimester, and has confessed to being a little bit unempathetic - until it was happening to her.

Yep - she's now got Pregnancy Karma.

"Pregnant people are dramatic"

In her clip, Jess, sitting on her sofa, says:

"Can I tell you a secret?

"I used to think that pregnant people were being dramatic when they couldn’t eat healthy and they couldn’t work out.

"To say that the universe gave it back to me is an understatement. From someone who worked out multiple times a week, every single week for the past 10 years: as soon as that sickness kicked in? The couch. Couch-ridden for three months straight.

"I couldn’t even walk. If I walked too fast, I would gag. So that is real."

She adds:

“Number two: eating. I always ate very healthy. And suddenly the aversions? They’re not just like ‘Oh, I don’t really feel like eating that.’

"No. It’s like, if you make me think about that food, I will involuntarily gag and throw up right now. It’s not dramatic at all; it’s so real.”

"Wow, this is my karma"

More than 1000 viewers commented on Jess's clip, with most agreeing pregnancy shock is real.

"I felt attacked my whole first tri! I was like wow this is my karma," one said, while another added, "Unless you go thru it you just can’t understand."

This mum confessed, "We’ve all been there. In the ripe age of 19 I worked in an OB office I really thought women were being dramatic.

"10 years later, first pregnancy humbled me, but second pregnancy is humbling me even further."

We loved this mum's 'It's funny because it's true' joke: "The best way I can explain how I felt first trimester is if you had mono and covid and were recovering from food poisoning at the same time."

Finally, we loved this woman laughing at her sister: "My sister apologized to me when she got pregnant. She said she thought I was exaggerating. HA."
