Looking for a DIY craft activity this weekend? Look no further than this gorgeous, multi-use project.

How to make a confetti egg

Here's how to make confetti eggs for Easter with your kids!

Materials

  • Wooden egg ornaments (I bought mine from Kmart)

  • Paint brush x 2

  • White matt finish acrylic paint  - I used Jo Sonja Titanium White

  • Mod Podge - Water based sealer, Matte finish

  • Colour paper - I used Krafters Korner A4 colour copy paper (tip: thinner (low GSM) is better). Idea: recycle wrapping paper off-cuts for a fun alternative.

  • Hole punch

  • Paper towel for drying brushes

  • Water for clean up

  1. Prepare your area with mod podge, a glass of water, paintbrush, paper towel, confetti and the dry painted egg

  2. Cover the egg with one coat of mod podge

  3. While Mod Podge is wet, using your hands sprinkle confetti over the egg. Brush off excess confetti and use your paint brush to smooth and flatten out the confetti. No need for perfection here! Random is good.

  4. Allow to dry

  5. Go over the confetti with another coat of Mod Podge

  6. Allow to dry. Over time the dry Mod Podge will go clear.

  7. Use your confetti eggs to decorate for Easter: in a bowl, on your table, hang them from a tree, use them to make your own Easter wreath!
