"God forbid it hit the fence"

The enraged mum passionately reports:

"I am shaking and fuming, my neighbour just yelled at me from across the fence. I was kicking a ball with my five-year-old son into the goals, and God forbid it hit the fence a few times.

"She yelled at my kids, 'You kids stop hitting that fence.'

"I said, 'Excuuuse me, do not speak to my kids like that.' And she goes, 'You're scaring my animals'. And I said, 'Take your animals inside. I'm playing with my five-year-old-son with a ball that is accidentally hitting your fence, which is also my fence!'."

The neighbour apparently responded that Renee should teach her children "respect", which Renee also took exception to, noting sarcastically that her son was not trying to be "malicious."

The woman next door then threatened to begin recording the altercation, and Renee invited her to do so, not being worried about anything being reported as the police "had bigger fish to fry."

Renee concluded her clip by adding that she told her neighbour to "get over it" when her son accidentally kicks the ball into her fence.

To further emphasise her point, the mum then goes to the backyard and deliberately kicks the ball into the corrugated iron fence, saying, "And lastly, here's one f**king more."

The clip was captioned: "I'm SORRY. Are you actually okay? I'm an animal lover don't get me wrong, but if my kid can't kick the ball outside we’ve got some issues 😂."

"I’m with your neighbor on this one, take your kids to the park"

If Renee was looking for empathy, justification or comfort, her 2.5k followers did not oblige. The clip, which has almost 700k views, instead has a 4.5k-strong comments section where the vast majority of viewers are slamming her attitude and handling of the incident.

"It's called respect for those around you," read one of the kinder comments. "You don't know what others might be going through."

But most of the thread was more brutal, and claimed they were "team neighbour."

"Nah I’m with your neighbour on this one. Nothing worse than that noise on colorbond fence," noted another viewer.

Others also suggested there was an easy solution: "If it’s disturbing her, move the goal to another part of the fence. We all have to compromise and co-exist. It’s not worth the long-term bad vibes plus it probably does upset her pets."

"Up until the end I was all for siding with you… until I heard that noise," another added, and more viewers were concerned for the pets, with this person writing, "Our dog actually gets super anxiety with the fences being kicked especially colourbond."

The overwhelming sentiment in the comments was so in disagreement with Renee, one viewer wrote, "This didn’t go as you expected did it lol."

"Let the children play"

But there were also supporters of Renee's stance.

"How dare she pay rent or mortgage at a property and not be able use the back yard with her kids," one noted sarcastically.

"What the heck are these comments, a family should be entitled to play in their own damn yard! Cannot believe there is even a question here!?" another added.

A third said, "Let the children play! Well done mumma" and this viewer applauded the mum's kick: "Perfect response at the end."
