Aldi customers are jumping for joy over “dupes” of expensive items as a new flurry of products land in Australian stores on Wednesday.

A hair curler “dupe” from Aldi is causing a stir among customers, with many eager to get their hands on it.

Crowds have, in the past, queued for hours to get their hands on Aldi’s Special Buys – particularly when beauty items are the ones on offer.

The Aldi item is part of the special buys drop on October 26, with the item retailing for just $29.99.

Meanwhile, the hair product has been compared by one TikTok user to the Mermade tool, which retails at $109.

The Hair Waver is touted as an “easy-to-use, triple-barrel waver that creates bouncy waves with minimal effort”. It also boasts anti-scald tips.

It comes with a glove and is available in pink/grey or black/silver.

Another item on sale is Lacura Summer Touch Booty Balm, which has a striking similarity to the Sol De Janeiro Bum Bum cream.

But while the original version costs $72 at Mecca, Aldi’s “dupe” of the cellulite-fighting cream costs just $9.99.

Of course, the quality of the ingredients will vary, but Lacura has used guarana extract to mimic the infamous tropical scent and firming effect of the cult Bum Bum cream.

There are also other products in Aldi’s new summer collection that are similar to other Sol De Janeiro favourites according to fans.

Customers fell in love with the heat tool that creates waves in hair, with many claiming they were eager to get their hands on it.

“These look great and will sell out within minutes – be a great Xmas gift too,” one woman commented on the product.

Another woman said: “Aldi coming through with the goods.”

Others simply said “need this” or asked a friend to pick one up if they got there first.

One person said the tool was a “blast from the past”.
