Sometimes, desperate times call for desperate measures when it comes to finding a car spot at your local shopping centre.
However, it very quickly crosses a line when your actions impact the lives of others.
One Melbourne Reddit user has taken to the platform to expose a driver for their ‘inappropriate’ parking in a shopping centre car park, and at the very least, they’re hoping people learn something from it.

“Please be more considerate”
A Melbourne Reddit user has taken to the platform sharing a photo of a driver parked incorrectly at their local shopping centre.
The driver is parked in between two accessible parking spaces - defeating the purpose of them being accessible at all.
“Designated Accessible Parking Bays (DAPB) is the correct name for areas marked off specifically for people with a disability to access their community. These are incorrectly called ‘disabled parking’ bays,” the post said.
“The DAPBs with two vehicle parking bays are separated by an area with painted hash lines on it and usually a large steel yellow pole to prevent vehicles entering. This is known is the shared area and no vehicles are to park there. This allows safe access to the vehicle and the community. The photo shows totally inappropriate parking.”
The poster called out the lack of care from the driver, hoping that those who saw the post would think twice before doing the same.
“The cars parked in the DAPBs have the appropriate car label allowing access to the bays, the cars parked in the shared area are some random who saw what they thought was a ‘space’ and parked there. This prevented people who need more space to access their vehicles or the shops,” they said.
“Please be more considerate and think of others.”
“Infuriating!”
Commenters on the post were quick to sympathise with the original poster, echoing how difficult it can be for those with disabilities to find a parking space when others are doing the wrong thing.
“Infuriating. My mum is in a wheelchair and having recently become her carer, I never realised how difficult it was to find accessible parking. There’s never enough spaces. And then there’s selfish twats like this to make it even harder for people,” said one commenter.
“I've ridden motorbikes for a really long time and when I first started riding, I'd park wherever the hell I wanted to,” said another, sharing their own similar story.
“When I parked in one of these striped sections once, someone came over to me and explained why they existed: to give the disabled space next to them room for wheelchairs and just to manage a big car often used for that.
“Totally changed my mindset and now I yell at other motorbikes and scooters (UberEats scooters are objectively the worst offenders) when they do it.”

“Have them towed!”
As for the driver themselves? Commenters agreed there was one simple solution.
“I don’t vouch for towing a car, but this person deserves to get their car towed,” said one commenter.
“Notify centre management and have them towed,” another agreed.
