Farmer wants a wife Trailer

The time has come again when we bid farewell to city life and head to the country for a brand-new season of Farmer Wants A Wife.

Nicknamed ‘the most successful reality dating show’, this year we’ll see farmers from Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria in their quest to find love.

Celebrating more than 17 successful years, Australia’s favourite bush fairy tale has seen nine marriages and 26 farmer babies, including a recent addition to Farmer Brad and Claire from season 13.

With two new weddings on the horizon – Andrew and Jess from season 11 and David and Emily from season 13 it’s pretty fair to say the odds are stacked in the contestants’ favour.

We’ve got the inside scoop on everything you need to know about this season, so grab your Akubra and flannel shirt and let’s hit the dirt road.

Who is hosting Farmer Wants A Wife?

We’re greeted once again by Samatha Armitage as she steps back into the saddle as the main host of Farmer Wants A Wife in 2024.

And before you ask "Where's Nat?" She WILL be joined by co-host Natalie Gruzlewski! The duo will help guide the farmers and their ladies to find their happily ever after, hopefully.

Meet your farmers

From tropical Queensland to the Snowy Mountains, this season’s farmers’ quest for love is coming from all corners (and climates) of the eastern side of Australia.

Farmer Bert, 30 – Wamuran, QLD

Farmer Bert is a fourth-generation pineapple, dragon fruit and pumpkin farmer from Wamuran, Queensland, so we know he will be a huge sweetie.

Describing himself as a little ‘rough around the edges’ but with a ‘really big heart’.

“I am hard working, determined, and look forward to new experiences…anything that is going to give me an adrenaline rush,” he said.

“I may put off a little bit of a hard exterior, but I’m a big emotional softy who loves his friends and family. I would do anything for them and tend to put others before myself.”

The 30-year-old, who lives 50 minutes outside of Brisbane, is looking for a partner who will slot into life on the farm and also get along with his nan.

“My ideal partner would have an easy-going personality, be willing to try new things and get along with everyone (especially Nanna!).

“She would be adventurous like I am and open to coming along to the things I enjoy doing,” he said.

We’re given a glimpse in a promo trailer into the moment his breath was taken away when meeting one particular contestant at the speed dating round, revealing it’s “an intimidating feeling meeting a beautiful woman”.

Farmer Joe, 33 – Bombala, NSW

Hailing from the Monora region in the Snowy Mountains, 33-year-old Farmer Joe is a cattle and sheep farmer who describes himself as a ‘tall, dark and handsome’ funny guy.

Hoping to find a partner who will embrace the beautiful region he calls home and not be shy to jump on a horse and go for a ride.

“I’m looking for someone who’s beautiful inside and out. A love for travel and the outdoors is also important. Someone who is strong and independent, who knows what she wants and is content with who she is,” he said.

“Someone that fits into my life without either of us having to change. Someone who is fit, active and can adapt well to farm life. I want someone who’s my equal; I don’t need someone to look after me or mother me.”

“I would love a partner that is happy, fun, loving, loves a good time, easy going, thick-skinned, tough, resilient, loyal, not afraid to have a go, and family-oriented,” he said.

“I am genuinely looking for a partner for life, so I would like to meet someone who is ready to settle down and ready to move to the farm.”

The 25-year-old said he is looking for a partner who shares similar values to him, but isn’t ‘too picky’.

“Someone who can make me laugh and smile. Who’s keen to have a crack! You know what I mean? Just willing to have a go!” he said.

“Someone I can take home to Mum & Dad. A family-loving person who wants to live on the farm, enjoy the country life and loves animals.”

His main goal is to find a partner who is "100 per cent honest and loyal".

“I’d like to find someone motivated and family-oriented, who has a positive attitude. And there’s always room for a cheeky side – you’ve gotta have fun!”
