A thrifty mum has shared her unbelievable bathroom transformation using a $12 buy from Kmart.
Posting to the Kmart Hacks and Decor page, she revealed how she used the Eight-Pack Vinyl Floor Tiles which you simply peel and stick over existing flooring.
Because the self-adhesive tiles don’t require any grouting or cementing, her DIY trick is perfect for renters or anyone looking to avoid the cost of renovating.
Kmart says they’re ideal for kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms or living rooms.

The budget-friendly bathroom upgrade
“Tried the Kmart vinyl floor tiles and love how it turned out! 💚🤍” Megan wrote to the page, adding that “they’re more of a subtle mint green in real life.”
She used 17 tiles all up, which cost her $36 in total for three boxes.
Detailing the process, which took two and a half hours from start to finish, she said: “I used A3 paper as a stencil before cutting the tiles,” for awkward corner pieces and around the toilet.
She also noted, “The tiles don’t line up perfectly, so you have to rotate them around to find the best fit.”
Megan was so happy with the final result, she says she’s even considering doing the walls next!

"I'm so inspired"
Her post proved to be a hit with fellow budget-conscious home renovators.
“Wow, that looks amazing!” one woman wrote. “Well done.”
Another shared, “I’m so inspired. What a difference it makes, even just doing the floor.”
“Looks more modern!” a third said.
However, some people were concerned about the quality of the tiles and whether or not they held up.
“Have you found they have stuck down okay? We started some in our toilet and they didn’t stick very well,” someone asked.
Megan replied, “Yeah, they have stuck down okay for ours so far. But when I made a mistake and peeled one off, it did come off a lot easier than I expected.”
