‘Isn’t worth the money’: Customers slam Kylie Jenner’s clothing line, Khy

Kylie Jenner’s latest venture is out – and the reviews are far from generous, with customers warned to “save their money”.

'Awkward' issue with Kylie Jenner's new clothing line

In case you missed it, Kylie Jenner has launched a new fashion brand called Khy.

The grungy 12-piece collection, Kidspot reports, features predominantly faux leather garments, including a black, full-length trench coat, and is inspired by Jenner’s own wardrobe.

With items retailing between $88 and $365, the reality star and beauty mogul has described the brand as “producing investment pieces at an affordable price point”.

Khy’s website also states it’s “fashion for everyone”, with sizes ranging from XXS to 4X.

Despite its promises of affordability and accessibility, reviews have started rolling in across social media since the brand’s launch last week – and they’re not great.

Some said the “modern luxury” pieces were “hideous” and “lack originality”, while others have claimed they’re overpriced for what’s essentially “cheap-looking pleather”.

But some of the strongest criticism has come from customers who said the brand has a serious sizing issue – with even the smallest sizes not properly fitting an average-height woman.

Leading up to its launch, there was a lot of speculation around the brand – and whether it was going to be as good as Kim Kardashian’s shapewear line Skims, Khloe Kardashian’s denim brand Good American, or even Jenner’s other brand, Kylie Cosmetics.

Now that customers are starting to get their hands on pieces, it seems like it’s not quite living up to the hype (and underperforming in sales, too).

To put it in perspective, most of the items are still available online – which is in stark contrast to Jenner’s previous brand launches, such as those for her Lip Kits, which consistently sold out within minutes back in 2015.

Over on TikTok, users claimed that the clothing’s design was to blame for the lack of demand.

One creator, @itsmichellesalazar, said in her try-on video the trench coat was “giving Matrix vibes”.

Dozens of viewers swiftly jumped into the comments to critique the jacket – with one writing that the “‘leather’ looks cheap”.

“Faux leather can look luxe, but this definitely doesn’t,” a second commented.

Another pointed out the fact the material is being marketed as “vegan leather”, and added: “Whoever rebranded plastic as ‘vegan leather’ is a marketing genius, and is also going to hell.”

“I would be sending that back and getting a refund,” someone else claimed.

“Where would you wear a Matrix coat to?” another woman asked.

To which someone responded: “Julia Fox would wear this and maybe other celebrities, but not normal folks.”

Others called the clothes “hideous”, “ugly” and “tacky”.

In another comment, one user compared Khy to “Shein/Ally Express quality”, while someone else said it resembled Zara collections that “have been done to death”.

“Y’all save your money. There are so many good quality clothing brands out there, no need to spend $$$ on overpriced celeb fads,” a different commenter wrote.

“This definitely isn’t worth the money,” another agreed.

“Looks like a garbage bag.”

Another video, from TikTok creator @rubylyn_, provided a similarly damning review in which she claimed Khy had serious sizing issues.

While filming a haul video of the clothes she’d been gifted by the brand, Ruby quickly realised her usual sizes didn’t fit her.

At 5’6 – and even if she was wearing heels – the pleather jeans she’d been sent would still look extremely baggy.

“They’re really heavy,” she said, having tried them on.

“Also they’re really long. These are dragging on the floor. I can’t imagine what these would look like on anyone shorter than me.”

Ruby was also swamped by the trench coat, despite her getting a size XS.

While the jacket is meant to be oversized, commenters pointed out that it simply looked like a poor fit and wouldn’t be practical at all for everyday wear.

“5’6 is the average height,” one commented. “Clearly Kylie’s team didn’t get the sizing right.”

“Why can’t they just create standard sizing that fits as it should?” a different user questioned.

Leading up to its launch, there was a lot of speculation around whether the brand would be as good as other Kardashian-Jenner family labels. Picture: Instagram

A video from fashion commentator @ladymollyelizabeth then went viral, suggesting that Jenner misled shoppers with her own perfectly-styled photos wearing the clothes.

“Without a doubt, Kylie Jenner is wearing her Khy pieces tailored to her body,” she said.

“If she has good tailors around her then good for her. But when I hear ‘fashion for everyone’ – I at least expect her clothes to fit the average height. I’m pretty sure Kylie herself is 5’6.”

She went on to talk about the sizing issue with the jeans.

“On the website, it recommends taking your normal size. Nowhere on the website does it mention these trousers are meant to be oversized or have a long fit. It even say, ‘This item is intended to be fitted’.”
