Hugh Grant's brutally honest opinion of Love Actually

Appearing in an interview on TikTok with his Wonka co-star Timothée Chalamet, Hugh Grant shares his ruthless opinion on the classic Christmas movie.

When the 63-year-old actor was asked about the endless appeal of the movie, where he plays the charming yet shy British Prime Minister, he seemed less than thrilled.

"If it comes on in your house, what is your reaction to it?" the interviewer asks him.

Chalamet then cuts in and says it's one of "the best Christmas movies of all time."

Meanwhile, Grant takes a moment, looking side to side awkwardly, before steering the conversation towards his co-star, Colin Firth.

"Well, um, I like Colin's bits. Colin Firth's story," he admits.

"I skip through the rest of it, really."

He then adds, "Which is weird, because I hate Colin and I want nothing but bad for his career. But I do think that's the best part of that film."

Chalamet just watches on in disbelief and laughs.

"He's actually right"

Grant's candid response, tinged with his characteristic dry humour, resonated with several viewers and fans of the movie.

One user agreed, noting, "He's actually right, the film hasn't stood the test of time but that one storyline is the best."

Another commented, "It’s great to see Hugh Grant being honest."

"Hugh Grant was Hugh Granting," someone else pointed out.

But the most interesting comment was this one, sharing a little-known fact: "Colin’s parts were going to be their own movie, and that’s why it works so well!!"
