In recent years, MCoBeauty has become one of Australia’s most popular makeup brands, famous for creating affordable versions of iconic high-end products.
But, this strategy hasn’t been free of controversy, with the brand now coming under fire once again from an industry giant.

Not so flawless
MCoBeauty first went viral last year, with the release of their Flawless Glow Luminous Skin Filter.
Though the release was met with enthusiasm from some, the product philosophy and design left others scratching their heads, due to the stark similarities it bore to Charlotte Tilbury’s Hollywood Flawless Filter.
The brand has gone on to create ‘dupes’ of plenty of other high-end products, such as Sol de Janeiro’s body mists, Summer Fridays’ Lip Butter Balm and Drunk Elephant’s bronzing drops.
However, the Flawless Glow has continued to be one of their best-selling products - as it is also for Charlotte Tilbury.
Just last week, Tilbury herself decided to clap back.

Error! Copy Impossible
Charlotte Tilbury has released a new advertising campaign, shining a spotlight on duplicate products of their iconic Hollywood Flawless Filter.
The video shows the product in a photocopier, with papers coming out with phrases like ‘ERROR! COPY IMPOSSIBLE’, and ‘DUPE DENIED’.
Whilst the video doesn’t mention any brand specifically, with brands like e.l.f. also coming out with their version of the product, Aussies are going in to bat for the beloved MCoBeauty product.
“MCo Flawless Filter is better. Not orange, doesn’t break me out,” one commenter said.
“I have both and have used CT twice. I use MCo every day.”
“I think MCoBeauty duped pretty hard,” said another.
However, others are praising the video, saying that nothing can beat the original.
“Soooo true!! Nothing will ever compare,” said one commenter.
“MCoBeauty needs to hear this, their dupes are getting ridiculous,” another said.
