Australian online fashion retailer White Fox Boutique is facing criticism after its co-founder shared a video of mountains of plastic-wrapped orders piled high in one of their warehouses.

White Fox Boutique director and co-founder Georgia Contos was keeping her followers up to date as an army of workers packed and dispatched orders made during a single day of sales.

Contos took to her Instagram story to show the mind-boggling mass of orders made by customers – enough to create a towering valley of plastic postage bags that spread across the floor of a massive warehouse.

White Fox Boutique warehouse video sparks outrage

The entrepreneur shared a video walking through the piles of bags saying it was what White Fox was “processing per day”.

“We never normally see it as we have multiple pick ups per hour. Crazy!!!” she wrote over the video.

Contos also shared a photo of her and a colleague standing on top of the pile.

The video was reshared to an influencer watchdog page where it sparked a tsunami of backlash over the “gross” scenes.

“Gross! This makes me feel ill,” one person wrote.

“The ‘cheap fast fashion lets pollute our planet’ world we live in. This video actually represents what our landfills look like with cheap disposable clothing.”

Another wrote they thought the video was of a landfill.

“Yikes all that ... clothes are going to end up in op shops,” someone else replied.

Many commented the video was “not the flex they thought it might be”.

News.com.au has approached White Fox Boutique for comment on the backlash.

The online fashion retailer has made a meteoric rise to prominence since the founders Georgia Contos (nee Moore) and her now-husband Daniel started selling clothes on eBay in 2013.

They later founded their online fashion retailer with a push from influencers such as Shani Grimmond and Sarah Stevenson – known as Sarah’s Day.

Today, the brand boasts two million followers in Instagram, and has gained a worldwide presence as an affordable fashion staple.
