Bec Judd reveals what happened to her famous Brownlows dress

It was the racy gown credited with making her a “household name” – but now Bec Judd has revealed what happened to it in the years since.

Rebecca Judd has revealed what happened to her famous Brownlows dress ahead of the 20th anniversary of its outing.

The popular influencer, who is married to AFL legend Chris Judd, “became a household name” when she made her red carpet debut in a red dress with a plunging neckline that went down to her navel.

Then known as Rebecca Twigley, the 21-year-old had “everyone talking” in the revealing gown, created by the late-Perth designer Ruth Tarvydas.

Now Judd has finally spilled the beans on what happened to the iconic dress, ahead of the 2024 Brownlows, which marks two decades since her most memorable fashion moment.

“(It was) definitely a moment. Can’t believe it’s been this long,” the 41-year-old told Zenn Design.

“The dress was given to charity which was auctioned off and I have not seen it since that night.”

While she may not have clapped eyes on it for 20 years, the distinctive red gown popped up in 2014, when it appeared at a showcase honouring Tarvydas at the Telstra Perth Fashion Festival.

At the time, it was owned by Monique Humich, whose husband paid $4000 for the slinky backless design at a charity auction in 2012.

It appeared at the event alongside some of the most spectacular pieces from the designer’s 40-year career, Perth Now reported at the time.

Judd, who shares four kids with her husband, has gone on to have numerous red carpet moments – revealing her favourite look was actually her wedding dress.

“I’ve been lucky enough to work with J’Aton Couture for 18 years. From Brownlows to Logies, to NGV Galas, to polo moments in NY – but my fave was my wedding,” she said.

“I had this amazing J’Aton dress for my ceremony called the Rebecca dress which was so intricately layered and beaded.

“I then changed into this incredible party dress for the reception which had all the sparkles and of course I was secretly concealing I was about 10/11 weeks pregnant.”

Judd said her favourite fashion moment was her wedding.

As part of her appearance in the furniture brand’s “In Bed With Zenn” column, Judd also took part in a photo shoot, wearing a popular two-piece set from the brand Henne – which recently opened its first Sydney store – that showed off her midriff.

Her new bedroom set, which Judd described as being made from “an incredible French fabric”, was also on display in the photos.

“You look insane,” one fan wrote on Instagram.

“Love the material. Obsessed with your bedroom,” another shared.
