Toowoomba’s Christmas Wonderland is set to fill Queens Park once again in its 22nd year bonanza.

Last year’s opening night welcomed more than 2500 visitors who browsed merrily through the Christmas light display.

Opening this year on December 7, the park will light up each evening between 7pm-10pm until Christmas Eve and include local entertainment and giveaways.

Hosted by the Lion’s Club of Toowoomba West, the event will fundraise for local charities and entry is by gold coin donation.

Last year, the event raised more than $1.4m and this year funds will be raised for the work of Lifeline Darling Downs and South West, the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation, and Toowoomba Hospice.

“We rely on the community’s support, with 38 volunteers needed each night and additional help for set up and pack-up,” Lion’s Club project chairman Marshall Cox said.

Those interested in volunteering can sign up on the event’s website at www.christmaswonderland.com.au.
