The iconic Rosalie House homestead is turning 100 this October, and the team are welcoming guests to a gorgeous long luncheon to celebrate.
Originally built in 1923, the Rosalie House homestead has had many lives, starting off as a dairy farm.
Homestead owner Doyle Thompson said he and his family moved to Toowoomba 30 years ago.
“The homestead is very special to us, it is our family home.” Mr Thompson said.
“We moved from northern NSW and we’ve been here ever since.”
Mr Thompson said the Lavender family were the original owners of the land before his family took over. The Lavenders continue to live nearby in a neighbouring property that was dissected off of the homestead’s land.
“We started off with the farm, where my daughters could ride horses. But after a while, we decided to start up a vineyard,” Mr Thompson said.
“Though we have renovated the interior recently, the homestead’s structure is still the same from 100 years ago.”
Restaurant and vineyard owner Renee Brown is one of Mr Thompson’s three daughters and said the long lunch is going to be a really special event.
“The afternoon is beautifully planned, with plenty of food, wine and live music.” Ms Brown said.
“We will be seating up to 80 guests for the celebration.”
Guests will be able to sample flavoursome in-house wines and try Pechey Distillery and Co’s brand-new Shiraz gin at the cocktail bar.
The menu, created by the Rosalie House chefs will feature delicious, local produce.
Guests will be invited to wander through the homestead’s recently renovated interior, as well as through the beautiful vineyards.
The event will be held on Saturday, October 14 from 12pm until 5pm.
