Australian Events managing director Bob Carroll said with the coronavirus pandemic closing international borders, interest in exploring the Australian outdoors had never been greater.

“We did some surveys on exhibitors and patrons through our events towards the end of last year, and we found that bookings for powered sites at caravan parks across the state were up by more than 60 per cent,” he said.

“This doesn’t take into account the increased activity in off-roading and camping off the grid.

“Things like camper trailers and 4WDs have opened up a whole new world to families during the lockdown, and prices have come down a lot, so there’s no better time to explore our own backyard.”

Mr Carroll said the event will be a unique shopping showcase of thousands of products to get you outdoors.

“People will drive for hours to get to this event, especially those looking to buy a new vehicle or a new caravan or camper trailer,” he said.

“They do their research and then they come to the event, compare all of the products on offer in one location and then they can wheel and deal on the spot. It is a wonderful event in that respect.”

The expo will feature adrenaline packed entertainment by Aussie FMX and its freestyle motocross skills.

The craft of camp oven cooking will also be on show from one of Australia’s most experienced camp oven cooks, Kingbrown, to teach people how to eat like a king while camping.
