A team of Queensland ghost chasers is hosting two paranormal investigations at a site near Toowoomba, both of which are open to the public.

East Coast Paranormal owner and host of the event Steve Evans said the site was home to a number of spirits who lived within the old buildings.

“I have been to (the pioneer village) a few times, these places fascinate me because of the history and what still lives with the buildings,” Mr Evans said.

“There are spirits there, but it’s up to them whether they want to talk on the night – sometimes we have quiet nights and then other times you think ‘it’s time to tone it down you guys, it’s getting a bit much’.”

He said he had come into contact with one of the village’s well-known ghosts during an earlier visit.

“There’s a building up there which we call the communication building and it used to have an elderly gentleman named Albert who worked there,” Mr Evans said.

“Myself, two guests and two people on management were standing 50 metres from the building one night, having a chat, and there was an almighty crash.

“Myself and my team member went up first, and we found that Albert had thrown a picture on the floor to the point where he had pulled the nail out of the wall, he broke the arm on the record deck and some speakers had been pulled down.”

Mr Evans is inviting the public to come see for themselves.

“We’re all capable of seeing and understanding spirits, we just don’t use it,” he said.

“My team will have investigators in a selection of buildings at the village and guests are free to wander around, join in and learn how to use the equipment – and communicate with the spirits if they want to talk.

“We have things from flashing sensor balls, right up to equipment such as SLS cameras to scan the rooms.”

The first investigation will be held at the pioneer village this Saturday night with the second session scheduled for December 5.

On Saturday afternoon, East Coast Paranormal is also hosting a kids’ trick-or-treat walk at the pioneer village.

Tickets for these events are available on the East Coast Paranormal. AU Facebook page.
