1. Reverence Car Meet

The Toowoomba Showgrounds will be filled with classic vehicles by local owners for the Toowoomba Regional INC Car Klub’s Reverence Car Meet on Saturday from 4pm.

The event will feature a big variety of cars, plenty of spectators, and a casual, friendly atmosphere perfect for enthusiasts.

Car owners also have the option to display their car under lights inside of the Founders Pavilion, where a Concours D’ Elegance parade will also take place.

Toowoomba’s oldest car, a 1910 Renault, will be one of the feature attractions.

Admission is just $5 for exhibitors and visitors, and no pre-entry is required.

2. Local author book launch

Nationally-popular Toowoomba children’s author Rory H Mather is launching his latest work, Mumma Bear, in his hometown at the Lighthouse on Sunday from 9am.

Mr Mather, who has published books with Scholastic including last year’s Brunocorn, will do a reading and there will also be songs, crafts and signings by himself and illustrator Helene Magisson.

3. Toowoomba The Dark Side

Learn more about the Garden City’s nasty history on Sunday, as Toowoomba Trails invites residents on a walking tour of the CBD’s dark secrets.

From our old jail, to the horrors perpetrated in Russell St in the 1920s and 30s this tour is bound to fascinate.

The tour kicks off from Queens Park at 1.30pm, so to book head to the Toowoomba Trails website.

4. Train Rides at Pioneer Village

The Highfields Pioneer Village Museum and Park is once again running mini-train and bus rides on Sunday from 9.30am until 4pm.

There will also be billy tea, damper, drinks and ice-creams available and a sausage sizzle at lunch time.

5. Writing workshop

Author Tara East will host a special writing workshop on Saturday from 10am at the Lighthouse.

The latest event will teach participants how to prepare a manuscript for an editor, agent or publisher, showing how to polish it up so that it hooks readers from page one.

6. Toowoomba’s Endless Edit

Head to the Toowoomba Indoor Bowling Association on Annand Street in the CBD on Sunday to either buy or sell quality preloved pieces, including clothing, shoes and accessories.

Toowoomba’s Endless Edit offers a chance for buyers to snap up a bargain for sellers to clear out preloved gems.

The indoor venue has change rooms, a coffee van on-site and free carparking to ensure everyone has a great experience.

7. Collectables and records pop-up shop

Aussie Fairs is hosting a special antiques, collectables and record pop-up shop inside Grand Central Shopping Centre on Saturday from 9am.

The level one shop will be filled with vinyl records, coins, bank notes and much more.

8. QMusic Industry Connect

Tune up your music industry know-how at the first QMusic Industry Connect event of 2025, to be held at the Empire Theatre on Saturday from 2pm.

Whether you’re a musician, artist manager, or wanting to get your start in the music industry, the free event will offer insight into building a sustainable career in music with knowledge, advice and experience shared by panels of industry experts.

Workshops at 2pm will be followed by a networking event and local talent showcase from 5pm.

9. Mr Perfect Men’s Community Barbecue

Not-for-profit group Mr Perfect is hosting a free community barbecue at Lake Annand Park on Saturday from 10.30am.

The regular event gives blokes a chance to meet other men, enjoy a chat and get access to resources to support men’s mental health.

10. Queensland Ballet’s Coppelia

A beautiful, lifelike doll and two quarrelling young lovers create comic chaos in this spirited ballet with a twist at the Empire Theatre on Saturday from 7.30pm.

Choreographer Greg Horsman, after Arthur Saint-Leon and Marius Petipa, has created a touching and witty production – with a vivid Australian aesthetic.
