Chrishell Stause talks to news.com.au about Love Triangle Season 3 gig

If you have yet to tune into the spicy throuple dating series Love Triangle Australia, then what are you waiting for?

Created by the same people who made Married At First Sight Australia, the Stan Original Series is just as juicy and brimming with scandal, drama and heartache.

Season 3 promises to return in 2025 bigger and better with Stan announcing today that US reality TV star Chrishell Stause is on board to host the show’s first ever reunion special.

Not only is Stause an Emmy-nominated actress and best-selling author, the 43-year-old also stars in the hit global real estate series Selling Sunset, so she’s no stranger to reality TV and is a veteran when it comes to reunion shows.

“It was fun to be in this role,” she told news.com.au, while promoting Love Triangle’s hotly anticipated Season 3 at the Sydney Opera House.

“First of all, I am such a reality TV dating junkie. I watch all the shows and I was instantly hooked when I watched this show.

“I love the concept of the show. And when they reached out, I jumped at the opportunity. I love the idea of sitting in the host seat instead of the hot seat.”

The show follows five sexy singles embark on the Love Triangle experience in a quest to find a more meaningful connection. Each single is matched with two potential partners who they have three days to get to know via text messages before having to choose one to date in the real world.

And here’s the first twist: they have no idea what their matches look like and they won’t know until their first date, after which they move in together. So when does two become three? Well, the suitor they rejected then enters the house and they must learn to live as a trio.

“I absolutely love being in the host position and just coming at it as a fan of reality television,” Stause says.

“Watching these singles lives and really connecting with them and wanting to ask those questions that as an audience member, you’re dying to know.”

Stause says Season 3 won’t disappoint viewers and the gloves come off in the reunion special as the cast unpack and reflect on the most memorable moments.

And viewers can expect confrontations, controversies, catastrophes and more, with Stause even confronting one of the singles on camera.

“Oh my gosh. I have to say this is unprecedented to anything I’ve seen,” she tells us. “This was insane. The emotions that we’ve gone through, the walkouts – we have it all.”

Drama aside, another reason Stause wanted to get involved was because she loves how the show heroes an emotional connection instead of superficial qualities, such as looks and status, when looking for the perfect partner.

Since May 2023, Stause has been married to Australian singer and songwriter G Flip, 31 – and the host is a firm believer in the importance of connection over attraction.

“I love the concept of getting past these superficial dating things that people look for and trying to find a deeper connection, basically the perfect person,” she says.

“Because if I was filling out a formula for my person, who you guys know, G Flip wouldn’t have come up. I am so happy and G changed my life. But it’s one of those things that I wouldn’t have been able to swipe on G, because I would’ve put in the wrong formula.”

The last season of Love Triangle also included another reality TV star: Ella Ding, who was one of the brides on MAFS in 2022.

Ding, who was partnered with groom Mitch Eynaud on the show, narrated Season 2 of Love Triangle and brought her fresh take and experience after going through a relationship experiment on camera.

“This experience and opportunity does feel personal, living through over a decade of being single & dating in the harsh real world to then reality TV in the hope of finding love & now being in love,” she said at the time.

“I’m just so excited for all of you to be addicted to this new STEAMY show.”

Ding married her partner Guy Palermo in April in an intimate ceremony one month after getting engaged and one year after going public with their relationship.

The brand new season of the Stan Original Series Love Triangle will premiere in 2025. Every episode of Seasons 1 and 2 are now streaming, only on Stan
