A feud on Channel 7’s hit show has escalated with payback being issued. The cause? A salad. James Weir recaps.

A high-maintenance city girl on Farmer Wants A Wife has her ulterior motive exposed by a nemesis who’s jealous of everything from her well-groomed hair to her salad making ability.

It’s not the first turf war to escalate over such hot-button issues.

But what’s so special about this particular salad? The walnuts. It’s all about the crunch and the good fats. Nothing elevates a salad more.

Producers are still trolling beauty queen Karli who, according to her enemy Caitlin, applies fake tan every day and gets up at the crack of dawn to straighten her hair. The gall! She should be jailed.

This morning, only minutes after exiting the bathroom in a cloud of hair spray, Karli’s grooming efforts are promptly sabotaged by a Ryobi jet blower.

Take that!

Farmer Bert’s homestead is clearly abuzz with excitement. His family is arriving soon to meet the girls over a smoko – which is convenient, because Caitlin has some tea she’d like to serve.

“I wanna tell them about Karli,” she informs us. “There’s something I’d like them to know. I feel I need to tell them some information.”

Wow. Today’s really not Karli’s day. First she cops a Ryobi jet-stream to the mug and now her secrets are being exposed.

“I feel like Karli does try and change to be well suited to Bert,” Caitlin continues to rant. “She did it in front of his friends. I don’t want that to happen again. I’ll do whatever I need to do.”

That’s so selfless of you!

When Farmer Bert’s family arrives, Karli immediately gets to work trying to impress them. Caitlin doesn’t even bother hiding her eye-rolls. The final straw? Bert’s sister-in-law compliments Karli’s food assembling abilities.

“That salad looks amazing!” she beams.

Karli flicks her hair back and smiles. “My family loves it, and I hope you do too.”

Caitlin almost flips the dining table.

Caitlin pledges to boycott salad for eternity.

The salad that broke the camel’s back.

Karli walks around the room and uses oversized tongs to graciously serve the award-winning salad that has been passed down from generations. The other guests don’t even bother trying Caitlin’s roast pork — they just immediately tuck into the green leafy goodness while making lots of annoying “mmmmm!” sounds.

Caitlin can’t take it anymore. She yanks Farmer Bert’s sisters outside and gets to work white-anting her enemy.

“I’m not someone who likes drama,” she begins.

Well it’s a good thing you’re handling this in a subdued way.

She goes on to reveal that Karli has been bragging about trying to sign deals with brands to leverage the meteoric fame she’ll no doubt experience after Farmer Wants A Wife.

“Karli has mentioned to Brooke and I that, after this experience, she’s already been in contact with companies to do promotions. So that’s a bit of a red flag in my mind,” she rants.

What! A reality TV contestant wants to become an influencer?! Why isn’t Michael Usher investigating this in a special edition of Spotlight?

What deals is Karli trying to land? Probably something to do with hair straighteners and salad.

Which reminds us: if Caitlin really wanted to destroy Karli’s reputation, she should’ve just told the family that her precious salad dressing was from a MasterFoods bottle.

‘And she hogs the bathroom to straighten her hair!’

The sisters head back inside to finish the rest of their salad. There’s a single date with Farmer Bert up for grabs and they have to pick which girl gets it. Caitlin’s confident she’ll be rewarded for sharing the intel.

“I hope I’ve made a good impression on Bert’s family,” she sighs to us. “I just don’t want to see them pick Karli for the date.”

And they don’t pick Karli. Instead, they pick a random girl called Brooke. Both Caitlin and Karli stare down at the table, their spirits more wilted than the leftover salad.

Sad salads.
