Unlike Season 1 that was filmed in bustling Sydney, the new season brings the characters to Western Australia, to the rural township of Tunkwell, when local landowner and town matriarch Bernice Price (played by Kris McQuade) is found dead at the bottom of a pump well.

Stream The Twelve Season 1 now and Season 2 from July 11 on BINGE, available on Hubbl.

“We are incredibly proud of the next instalment of this premium drama series,” Alison Hurbert-Burns, Commissioner Foxtel Group and Executive Producer said in a statement.

“Warner Bros. International Television Australia and Easy Tiger have delivered a complex and gripping drama with a stellar ensemble cast that will leave viewers guessing until the end.”

The eight-episode series also stars Logie winner Tasma Walton, who plays one of the main jurors in the various locations shot across her home state.

“Last night I got to go home and my daughter was still up so I could put her to bed,” she previously told the Herald Sun of her daughter Ruby, who she shares with husband Rove McManus.

“Often you’re away for an extended period of time and the hours are just not kind for families. It’s such a gift for people and families – most of us we had to leave here to go over east to make a career for ourselves.”

Season 1 of The Twelve launched to critical reviews and dominated at local awards shows. The series won three of its 10 AACTA nominations in 2022, including Best Miniseries, and was also the most nominated drama series at TV Week Logie Awards last year, with Neill taking home the coveted Most Popular Actor award.

“I think there has been a mistake,” Neill said in his acceptance speech. “I haven’t actually thought of anything to say, but I thought my name was just there to make up the numbers.”

“Look, there are so many actors in this show that I am not even sure that I was the main actor or anything like that,” he continued. “I don’t know why they have given this to me. Maybe it was the wig? Yeah, it was the wig.”

The Twelve Season 2 premieres Thursday, July 11 on BINGE and Thursday, July 11 on Foxtel Showcase at 8.30pm and available On Demand.
