CURIOUSITY got the better of hundreds of people on Saturday, as the inaugural Curious Arts Festival swung into gear in the grounds and venues of the Empire Theatre.
Festival co-director Kirsten Bartholomew said she wanted to put on an event that "gave people a chance to experience something new, something they've never experienced before, something maybe they've been a little bit curious about".
And for those who loved their foray into a wider world of arts, Ms Bartholomew said the intention was to make the festival an annual event.
Whether it was cabaret or comedy in the theatres or music and street performers and dancers in the forecourt, the Curious Arts Festival had something for everyone.
