That’s haute! Nicole Kidman, Kim Kardashian walk runway for Balenciaga in Paris

Nicole Kidman almost upstaged Kim Kardashian on the runway for Balenciaga, with Kidman and husband Keith Urban packing on PDA after the show in Paris. See the photos.

Nicole Kidman has walked the runway at Balenciaga’s haute couture show in Paris – alongside a star-studded catwalk that featured Kim Kardashian and Naomi Cambpell.

Sitting in the front row was Kidman’s husband, Keith Urban, with the couple packing on PDA outside Hotel de la Marine in Paris.

Also attending were Kris Jenner and her granddaughter North West, Euphoria star Alexa Demie, and rapper Offset.

Oscar-winner Kidman sported a metallic, aluminium foil-like dress with a pair of long black gloves, with her hair in a half-up, half-down look that resembled her role in 2004’s The Stepford Wives.

Of the Kidman-Urban PDA, US Vogue said: “A standout moment from the noir haze included a his-and-hers Balenciaga moment from Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban”.

“The country star, who usually keeps things rugged and simple, leaned into dramatic proportions by pairing a baggy chore coat with a more subdued black tee and jeans.”

Also on the runway were Balenciaga muses Dua Lipa, Bella Hadid, and Christine Quinn, of Selling Sunset fame.

There were so many stars on the runway, and in the front row, that Balenciaga did the almost-impossible – the spectacle itself overshadowed Kardashian’s runway debut.

Known for pushing the boundaries in design and casting, Balenciaga creative Demna Gvasalia tapped the superstars to model his latest looks for the luxury house.

Kidman posted behind-the-scenes footage from the show on Instagram, capturing the moment before she hit the catwalk.

Her fashion “walk” went viral, much like her infamous Oscars applause, reported the New York Post.

Commenting on Vogue’s video, one followed noted: “​​Nicole [sic] walk I can’t,” while another defended her, writing, “It’s the damn shoes. If you look closely they don’t stand flat on the ground. Wtf?! Whose idea was it to make boat shaped shoes?”

A third praised Kidman’s “theatrical” walk, while a fourth simply wrote, “she did better than Kim”.

The Balenciaga show played out on Instagram and TikTok, where it was trending.

US Vogue noted that the entrance to the couture show “was its own runway show”, as Kidman, Campbell, Hadid and more all sporting other outfits from Balenciaga as they arrived, and departed.

“Naomi Campbell, Kim Kardashian, Nicole Kidman, Dua Lipa and other A-list co. modelled the visual buffet on the runway, but the entrance to the couture collection was its own campy showcase of oversized Demna fits, with some surprising names joining the fold,” Vogue wrote.

As Grazia noted, the runway featured “embellished evening gowns with dramatic, structured silhouettes — hourglass shapes bought to life with heavy embroidery, or handpainted feathers, intricately woven tweed”.
