Chappell Roan has sparked concern after pulling out of two major festival gigs just hours before she was due to take the stage.

The Hot To Go singer, 26, who’s enjoyed massive chart success in Australia this year, was due to perform two dates this weekend at the All Things Go festival.

The first was on Saturday in New York City, while the second was in Columbia, Maryland on Sunday.

But today Chappell left thousands of fans disappointed when she announced she was unable to perform.

Taking to her social media, she wrote: “I apologise to people who have been waiting to see me in NYC & DC this weekend at All Things Go, but I am unable to perform.

“Things have gotten overwhelming over the past few weeks and I am really feeling it.

“I feel pressures to prioritise a lot of things right now and I need a few days to prioritise my health. I want to be present when I perform and give the best shows possible. Thank you for understanding.”

She signed off her post: “Be back soon xox”

This is not the first time Roan has cancelled gigs recently. She left European fans gutted when she pulled out of shows in Paris and Amsterdam at the last minute, and also rescheduled one in Berlin.

At the time, she blamed scheduling conflicts. Her latest cancellations, however, come after Roan went on a TikTok rant after gaining backlash for not appearing to endorse US Presidential candidate Kamala Harris.

In a recent interview with The Guardian, she declined to throw her support behind Donald Trump or Kamala, saying “there’s problems on both sides”.

After getting criticised for her comment, Roan took to TikTok and vented her fury.

She fumed: “Hear it from my mouth, if you’re still wondering. No, I’m not voting for Trump.

“And yes, I will always question those in power and those making decisions over other people, and I will stand up for what’s right and what I believe in, and it’s always at the forefront of my project.”

Despite riding high in the charts in recent months, Roan has found herself under fire for some things she has said during her time in the spotlight.

While her fans love her outspoken, empowered stance on things, some of her detractors have labelled her entitled.

She sparked some criticism when she went on social media to slam fans who invaded her privacy.

Roan, whose real name is Kayleigh Rose Amstutz, said in a TikTok video that she did not believe her fame meant people could demand selfies or hugs from her.
