Michael Buble cuts casual figure at cafe in Perth amid Australian tour

One of music’s biggest names has touched down in Australia for a long-awaited tour – enjoying a low-key morning in Perth at a local coffee shop.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Michael Buble season.

While the legendary Canadian jazz singer might be playfully known for his emergence during the festive period, he’s been spotted soaking up the winter sunshine in Australia amid his national tour this month.

The Grammy-award winner, 47, performed his first show in Newcastle last week, and has now touched down in Perth ahead of his show at RAC Arena Monday night.

Buble, a father-of-four, was photographed at a cafe in the city on Sunday, going incognito in a black beanie and sunglasses.

At one stage, he was seen chatting with local fans as he happily took selfies and signed autographs.

On Twitter, Buble shared a photo of himself enjoying the sights of Perth alongside his mother, Amber Santaga, who is travelling with him during his tour.

Buble is next set to jet into Sydney for back-to-back shows at Qudos Bank Arena on Friday and Saturday.

He’ll then head to South Australia for two shows at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on June 13 and June 14, before wrapping with shows at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on June 16 and 17, and the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on June 20 and June 21.

Afterwards, he’ll play a show in New Zealand at Auckland’s Spark Arena on June 25.

It comes after Buble’s Aussie tour got off to a rocky start when he was forced to pull the pin on it three weeks before its intended start date in November last year.

He was scheduled to perform nine stadium shows around the country, starting in Newcastle on November 30, but at the time, he announced he was pushing back the dates back due to “logistical issues”.

“Despite our best efforts, my team and I have come to realise that global logistical issues have made it impossible for us to deliver the show that I feel Australians deserve,” Buble wrote in a statement.

“Although it’s completely disappointing for all of us, I wanted to be transparent with you and hope you can understand what a difficult decision this was to make.”

Buble first announced the tour in March last year, after dropping his 11th studio album, Higher.

At the time, he said in a statement: “I have been touring Australia for 20 years now and the fact that you all keep turning up to my shows makes me feel like the luckiest man alive. I absolutely adore performing live, being on stage is complete and utter enjoyment for me. It’s a great pleasure and honour for me to be able to show up and be made feel so welcome.”

Buble lives in Vancouver with his wife Luisana Lopilato and their children.

The couple, who have been married since 2011, welcomed their fourth child, daughter Cielo Yoli Rose, in August last year.
