A former Toowoomba student and national athlete has made her mark as a star on the latest season of Love Island.

Toowoomba’s own Lexy Thornberry has made her mark on the country as a star on the latest season of Channel 9’s Love Island Australia.
Thornberry, 20, landed in the Villa and made her mark on the contestants very quickly, coupling up with Ryan.
During her time in Toowoomba, Thornberry was a national athlete, specialising in the athletics and heptathlon.
The bartender and exercise science student was discovered by Love Island Australis scouts while working at a bar in Brisbane and said she thought it was a great idea to be on the show.
The show features a group of single contestants, known as “islanders” who live in a luxury villa in an attempt to find love.
The contestants “couple up” to avoid being dumped from the villa, and the winners are decided by the viewers who vote to save their favourites.
She says she is not afraid of confrontation and is happy to speak her mind.
The series is hosted by Sophie Monk.
To watch Thornberry on Love Island Australian tune in on Monday to Thursday at 8.30pm on Channel 9, and it kicked off on October 11.
