Meghan Markle to bring back wellness blog The Tig

Meghan Markle is reportedly gearing up to revive a project that she had to stop when she entered the royal family.

Sussexes have done a ‘very limited’ amount of ‘goodwill’ as Meghan is set to relaunch blog

Meghan Markle is considering bringing back her old lifestyle blog The Tig, according to UK reports.

The Duchess of Sussex shut down the website following her engagement to Prince Harry in 2017.

But the 41-year-old has obtained official preliminary approval for a relaunch, The Sun reports.

The Tig, named after her favourite red wine Tignanello, would allegedly rival Gwyneth Paltrow’s £200 million (A$366mn) Goop, which offers similar wellness and “conscious living” content.

It could also see the Duchess of Sussex become an agony aunt, dishing out “commentary in the field of personal relationships”, according to papers filed with the US Trademark and Patent Office.

The former actress started the blog, which could go live as early as next week, while starring in legal drama Suits.

She previously described it as a “passion project” which “evolved into an amazing community of inspiration, support, fun and frivolity”.

Not only would it be a space for her to vent her views, it could also provide the Sussexes a substantial income.

Since stepping down as senior royals, the couple have produced a podcast, Netflix documentary and memoir, as well as several high-profile interviews between them.

These are said to have made them millions of dollars.

Speaking in docuseries Harry & Meghan, the mum-of-two said of the blog: “It wasn’t just a hobby, it became a really successful business.

“I’ve never really been the type of person to do only one thing. I guess that’s how my website was born.

“There was fashion, tons of food, and travel - all the things that I loved.”

Suits director and Meghan’s friend Silver Tree said: “When she first was describing [The Tig] to me, she was like, ‘It’s like your best friend telling you all the fun things you wish you knew about in one place’.”

According to royal biographers Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, the site was shut down due to “intense media scrutiny”.

HARRY & MEGHAN TO GET COLD SHOULDER AT CORONATION

Members of the Royal Family are planning to give Harry and Meghan the “cold shoulder” at King Charles’ coronation.

If the Duke and Duchess of Sussex do attend, some royals are said to be hoping they are “seated in Iceland,” according to a source which spoke to The Sun.

Prince Harry, 38, and Meghan Markle, 41, have been invited to the ceremony on May 6 and while there has been no confirmation it is expected they will attend.

Their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are considered too young to attend the Westminster Abbey event by palace officials.

Harry and Meghan are likely to spend some of the day with their children as it is Archie’s fourth birthday on May 6.

The duke and duchess are also expected not to be invited to take part in the Buckingham Palace balcony appearance and its reported many members of the family do not want to socialise with the couple.

An unnamed friend of the family said: “They will be given the cold shoulder by very many relatives. One said to me, ‘I hope they’ll be seated in Iceland’.

“Many of the family just want nothing more to do with them. If they have to see them at the Coronation then so be it, but they do not want to socialise with them.”

Relations between Harry and Meghan and his family have become increasingly strained since ‘Megxit’ when the couple left Britain for life in California where they have set up home in Montecito.

Prince Harry even described his brother, Prince William, as his “arch-nemesis” in his memoir Spare.

It comes as reports surfaced that relations between Meghan Markle and Sophie, now the Duchess of Edinburgh, had become strained when the Duchess of Sussex reportedly turned down the chance to have Sophie Wessex mentor her on life as a Royal.

Now friends of Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, claim she is ‘relieved’ that her Royal promotion means she no longer needs to curtsey to Meghan.

The former Countess of Wessex had previously been required to defer to Prince Harry’s wife who, as a Duchess, was of a higher rank than her.

On Friday, local time, Prince Edward was promoted to Duke of Edinburgh to mark his 59th birthday, making his wife Sophie now a Duchess.

According to the Daily Mail, a friend of the couple said: “Sophie is relieved. She no longer has to curtsey to someone in the family who has not only left Royal duties but has spent the past three years criticising the institution that Sophie works so hard to support.”
