One of Meghan Markle’s best friends has been caught “laughing” backstage while at the debut of Chris Rock’s Netflix special “Selective Outrage” as he mocked the Duchess’ allegations of racism against the royal family.

On Saturday night, US time, Rock devoted the final 10 minutes of the show to the now infamous moment that Oscar winner Will Smith got up and smacked him across the face during the live telecast of the awards show, the first hour tore into touchy and trending topics and devoted several minutes to Meghan Markle and her racism claims.

Vampire Diaries actress Janina Gavankar, who has been a staunch defender of Prince Harry and Ms Markle, was spotted in the theatre’s VIP green room to witness Rock make history for the streaming service’s first live global streaming event.

“Janina looked to be enjoying the show very much, she was standing up by the TV screens and laughing,” a source told Page Six.

Rock launched his routine, poking fun at the current cultural climate in which he warns “don’t fall into the woke trap.”

“The thing I have a problem with is the selective outrage … One person does something, they get cancelled. Somebody else does the exact same thing – nothing.”

In the lead up to slamming Ms Markle, Rock railed against people who want to get attention by being victims.

“Everybody trying to be a victim. What’s this girl, Meghan Markle,” Rock groaned.

“Seemed like a nice lady, just complaining. I’m like, Didn’t she hit the light-skinned lottery? … And still going off complaining, acting all dumb like she know nothing, going on Oprah, ‘I didn’t know, I had no idea how racist they were’ …

““It’s the royal family!,” Rock screamed. “You didn’t Google these motherf**kers? What the f**k is she talking about ‘She didn’t know’?!”

The comedian continued: “It’s the royal family. They’re the original racists! They invented colonialism. They’re the OGs of racism …”

“That’s like marrying into the Budweiser family and going, ‘They drink a lot.’”

As for allegations about the royal family asking about “how brown” Ms Markle’s first baby, Archie, would be, Rock said:

“That’s not racist,” Rock insisted.

“Cause even black people wanna know how brown the baby’s gonna be!”

He went on: “Some of that sh*t she went through was not racism. It was just in-law sh*t.”

Rock then mellowed and expressed sympathy for Ms Markle.

“Meghan Markle, I know the dilemma! Black girl trying to be accepted by her white in-laws. It’s very hard. But it ain’t as hard as a white girl trying to be accepted by her black in-laws … You bring a white girl home for Thanksgiving, your mama going to say something!”
