Prince Harry emerges on Instagram during ‘fun’ Tokyo trip

Prince Harry has emerged in an Instagram post uploaded by his friend on their Tokyo trip, but it’s the caption that proved most interesting.

Prince Harry has emerged in a rare Instagram post enjoying some downtime in Japan.

The Duke of Sussex, who is currently in Tokyo for the ISPS Sports Values Summit – Special Edition, was seen in a photo posted by his longtime friend, professional polo player Ignacio ‘Nacho’ Figueras.

The fun snap showed the pair posing side-by-side in a retail store wearing aviator-style sunglasses.

Most interesting, though, was the caption Figueras wrote alongside the photo, which read, “Shopping for our wives.”

Figueras was referencing his own wife, Delfina Blaquier, and of course Harry’s wife Meghan Markle, who was reportedly at Taylor Swift’s Los Angeles concert on Tuesday, local time.

The last time Figueras posted about Harry, prior to their Tokyo trip, was in September last year for the royal’s birthday. At the time he wrote, “Happy birthday! Love you!”

The timing of the post comes amid recent rumours that Harry and Meghan – who share two children Archie, 4, and Lilibet, 2 – have been taking time apart, rumours which insiders have swiftly denied.

The Sussexes have suddenly ramped up their public outings in the past week after months of silence following their ill-fated New York trip in May.

Negative headlines have plagued the couple since, with their Spotify deal dramatically ending and swirling ‘break’ rumours.

But they appeared to pour cold water on those reports after releasing a video last Wednesday, in which they were filmed calling recipients of the first Responsible Technology Youth Power Fund to congratulate them. The following day, they were spotted attending a birthday dinner for Meghan in Montecito.

And on Monday, it was announced Harry and Meghan are set to adapt a best-selling book into a Netflix film after securing the rights to Meet Me At The Lake.

Further, it was announced last week that the couple will attend the Invictus Games in Germany together in September.

Meanwhile, an insider toldPage Six that Harry had “so much fun” shopping in Tokyo, and made no attempts at a disguise.

“He didn’t even wear his hat out, we had the best time and everyone was so nice,” the source said.

The friends also reportedly took photos with “anyone who asked and waved at anyone who noticed them from afar,” the source added.

Harry and Figueras will next head to Singapore to take part in a charity polo match for Sentebale, an organisation co-founded by Harry in 2006 which supports vulnerable children and young people in Botswana and Lesotho.
