Beyonce makes whopping donation to LA fire relief

Beyonce has made a massive donation towards fire relief as more such as Michael Douglas, Halle Berry and Sharon Stone rally to help the victims of the LA wildfires.

Beyonce has donated a massive $2.5 million (A$4 million) to victims of the Los Angeles wildfires.

As part of the pop superstar’s BeyGOOD Foundation, the donation will assist families in the Altadena and Pasadena areas of Los Angeles, which have been severely impacted by the wildfires.

“The fund is earmarked to aid families in the Altadena/Pasadena area who lost their homes, and to churches and community centres to address the immediate needs of those affected by the wildfires,” a spokesman for Beyonce said.

PARIS HILTON

Meanwhile, Paris Hilton has launched an emergency fund to support those displaced by the Los Angeles wildfires.

The reality star and socialite, whose much-loved Malibu beach house burned to the ground in the Palisades fire, kickstarted her fund with a personal donation of $100,000 (A$160,000).

Hilton said she will match donations of up to an additional $100,000 dollars after she watched her Malibu home “burn to the ground on live TV”.

“While I’ve lost my Malibu home, my thoughts are with the countless families who have lost so much more – their homes, cherished keepsakes, the communities they loved, and their sense of stability,” the mother of two wrote.

“As a mum, I can’t imagine the pain and fear of not having a safe place for your babies so I’m launching an emergency fund through my non-profit 11:11 Media Impact to support displaced families with young children.

HALLE BERRY AND SHARON STONE

It came as Catwoman co-stars Halle Berry and Sharon Stone donated their entire wardrobes to help those displaced by the LA fires.

Berry, following the lead of Stone, took to Instagram to reveals she took the contents of her wardrboe to Beverly Hills home goods store +Coop.

“I’m packing up my entire closet and heading over to the COOP! If you live in the Southern California area, I urge you to do the same. This is something we can do right now today to help all of the displaced families that are in need of the basics today! Thank you @sharonstone for your leadership. Love you Lady,” she wrote on Instagram.

“I’m from Meadville, Pennsylvania, and a famous quote from Margaret Meade says never forget that a group of thoughtful committed citizens can make a difference,” Berry said in the video.

WALT DISNEY COMPANY

The Walt Disney Company announced a donation of $15 million (A$25 million) to fund groups dealing with damage wrought by the blazes.

Organisation set to receive funding include the American Red Cross, the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank.

“As this tragedy continues to unfold, The Walt Disney Company is committed to supporting our community and our employees as we all work together to recover and rebuild from this unbelievable devastation,” said Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger.

“Walt Disney came to Los Angeles with little more than his limitless imagination, and it was here that he chose to make his home, pursue his dreams, and create extraordinary storytelling that means so much to so many people around the world. We are proud to provide assistance to this resilient and vibrant community in this moment of need.”

THE KARDASHIANS

While Kim Kardashian has implored Governor Gavin Newsom to raise the wages of incarcerated firefighters who are helping fight the blaze, the Kardashian family has also donated meals to firefighters via Carousel restaurant in Los Angeles.

“We proudly delivered meals to several fire stations today. Thank you to the frontline members for your dedication to your communities. A special thank you to the Kardashian family for funding the meals — your generosity knows no bounds,” the restaurant wrote on social media.

EVA LONGORIA

The former Desperate Housewives star pledged to match any $50,000 (A$81,000) donation to the organisation This is About Humanity for frontline essential workers and families impacted by the fires.

“LA is strong, everybody has been so helpful in the communities all over from Altadena to Pasadena to the Pacific Palisades. Everybody is on the street. Everybody is helping. People are coming together in beautiful ways. It’s beautiful to watch,” she said.

PRINCE HARRY AND MEGHAN MARKLE

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle – who have visited firefighters tackling the Eaton fire and spoken to victims – have reportedly made monetary donations to relief efforts; donated clothing, children’s items and other supplies, and have directed people to support organisations including the World Central Kitchen, CAL FIRE, LA Fire Department Foundation, Animal Wellness Foundation, Compton Cowboys and Baby2baby.

KYLIE JENNER

Kylie Jenner, the youngest member of the Kardashian-Jenner family, posted that she was making an unspecified donation to the California Fire Foundation Wildfire & Disaster Relief Fund, an extension of the California Fire Foundation.

MICHAEL DOUGLAS

Michael Douglas, star of Wall Street and Basic Instinct, has pledged money through his movie star father Kirk Douglas’ foundation.

The husband of Catherine Zeta-Jones, who said he does not live in Los Angeles but loves the city, said the money was going toward the Red Cross.

JAMIE LEE CURTIS

The Oscar-winner pledged $1 million (A$1.6 million).

“As the fire still rages on and @calfire @losangelesfiredepartment and all the available first responders and agencies involved in fighting fire and saving lives are still hard at work and neighbours and friends are banding together to save each other, my husband and I and our children have pledged $1 million from our Family Foundation to start a fund of support for our great city and state and the great people who live and love there,” she wrote via Instagram.

“I’m in communication with Governor Newsom and Mayor Bass and Senator Schiff as to where those funds need to be directed for the most impact.”

AIRBNB

Airbnb last week announced it would work with a local non-profit to provide free temporary housing to those displaced by the fires, and said it experienced “an absolute crush of applications, thousand and thousands.”

PARAMOUNT

Paramount donated $1 million (A$1.6 million) to relief efforts, with donations to the American Red Cross, the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, the California Fire Foundation, Direct Relief, World Central Kitchen and Best Friends Animal Society, according to an internal memo obtained by Variety.

APPLE

Apple’s chief executive Tim Cook wrote on X saying the company will be donating to support victims and recovery efforts, though he has not specified an amount.

WALMART

The American chain store said it will donate $2.5 million (A$4 million) worth of cash, food, water and other essentials to help with wildfire relief.
