Piers Morgan: Prince William’s ‘impressive dignity’ in the face of turmoil and tragedy shames Harry

Outspoken commentator Piers Morgan has voiced his support for Prince William whose “dignity in the face of soul-crushing turmoil and tragedy” shames “treacherous Harry.”

‘Burden falls directly’ on Prince William following King and Princess Kate’s cancer diagnosis

Piers Morgan has heaped praise on Prince William, the future King of England.

In an opinion piece penned for The Sun, the outspoken media commentator and frequent critic of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has shared his thoughts on the Prince of Wales’s character in a time of terrible duress.

Morgan notes that Prince William has had to step up after both his father and his wife were diagnosed with cancer. - with this family trauma coming after the childhood trauma of his mother Princess Diana being killed in a car crash when he was just 15.

“And right when he most needs the love and support of his closest family, probably the only people he can truly trust in the world, he finds himself at war with his only sibling Prince Harry who so cruelly betrayed him for grubby pieces of Hollywood silver.

Many people might have crumbled under the weight of all this death, sickness, tragedy and treachery,” writes Morgan, who has some harsh words for the Duke of Sussex.

Prince William has demonstrated that he has what it takes to be the next king, with his “impressive ‘show-must-go-on’ mentality that he’s displayed amid all the soul-crushing turmoil swirling around him.”

This includes enthusiastically getting behind causes such as homelessness, even as he knew of his wife’s cancer diagnosis, which had not yet been made public.

Even so, notes Morgan, William “listened intently to Homewards project worker Chris Lynam, 41, who described how he had turned around his life after he ended up first homeless and then in jail.”

The royal was visibly moved and said: “I want to say how brave you are to be here telling your story, it’s amazing where you are.”

He then asked his aides to get the man’s contact details so they could stay in touch.

Additionally, Prince William offered to take a selfie with a worker, which is unusual for royal protocol.

“Thank you so much,” said the delighted fan.

“What’s your name?” asked Prince William.

“My name is Leigh.”

“Have a good rest of your day,” said the royal, shaking Leigh’s hand, even as inside he was probably worried about his sick father and wife.

“That takes courage, resilience, stoicism, and an instinctive commitment to duty that all the most popular royals have,” writes former journalist Morgan, who goes on in his opinion piece to trash the “self-serving antics of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at this incredibly difficult time for the Royal Family”, which is, he writes, “especially nauseating.”’

Morgan slammed Harry and Meghan’s response to Kate’s public video in which she disclosed her cancer diagnosis as “pathetically disingenuous”.

Morgan has no kind words for Omid Scobie who he calls a “horrible little weasel.”

“Little wonder that Kate and William declined to share the awful cancer news in advance with this despicably untrustworthy duo,” said Morgan, who predicts the Wales’s popularity will “continue soaring.”
