Kendall and Kylie Jenner talk body image, boys and Forever New line
KENDALL and Kylie Jenner are used to living in the spotlight, but that doesn’t mean it never bothers them. They’ve opened up in a refreshingly honest interview.

KENDALL and Kylie Jenner have ruled 2015.
They’ve made millions (Kendall’s net worth is estimated at $6 million, while Kylie’s is $5 million) and have more than 80 million followers between them on social media.
But even the youngest members of the Kardashian family admit they’re “not perfect”.
Kendall and Kylie were in Australia to launch Kendall + Kylie, their 19-piece capsule collection for Forever New, last week, which features mini skirts, cut-outs and crop tops, in leather, white and their signature hue, black.
This year, Kendall, 20, earned supermodel status by walking in the Victoria’s Secret runway show this month and has her own “squad” that includes model BFFs Gigi Hadid and Cara Delevingne (Kendall and Cara call themselves “cake”).
While Kylie, 18, has made headlines for her cosmetically enhanced lips (she admitted to being injected with “temporary lip fillers”) and on again, off again relationship with the rapper, Tyga, 25 (reports over the weekend claimed they’d split and Kylie was seen leaving a club with A$AP Rocky). Even Kim has admitted that Kylie has “dethroned” her.
They have both launched successful apps, with Kylie’s the most popular application of any Kardashian family member, and estimated to earn her $15 million in a year, CNN reported.
For all their fame and attention on their looks, how do the Keeping Up With the Kardashians stars deal with the constant scrutiny?
“It’s so lame,” Kendall said. “Especially in this world, everyone looks at you with a magnifying glass.”
“I think that that’s just stupid because no one is perfect,” Kendall told News Corp Australia.
“I know some of the most beautiful people out there and ... I know they’re not perfect, whether that’s on the outside or the inside.
“No one will ever be perfect, so it’s just stupid to put someone’s face on a magazine cover saying, ‘this is what you should look like.’
“It’s kind of my job but it’s not real life.”
Kendall says she doesn’t read the comments on her social media feeds (she has more than 41 million followers on Instagram).
“That’s why I don’t read my comments. I don’t read anything of that nature,” Kendall said, wearing a black jumpsuit with lace leg trim that she and Kylie designed.
“So if you put yourself in that position you’re, like, not going to be happy.”
While it may seem like Kendall and Kylie have become really famous, really quickly, they grew up in the spotlight.
“I think that for us, we kind of grew up with it (fame),” Kendall said.
“I mean even before our TV show, my dad is who he is, our parents were walking red carpets and taking us along, so we’ve always been involved in the limelight, if you want to call it.
“We’ve grown up around it our entire lives, so we kind of understood what it was a bit. So I think that that helped a lot, for the point we’re at now. I think that helped a tonne.”
ROLE MODELS
She has OTT lips, constantly changing hair (she’s been a blonde, brunette and had blue and green locks) and general ‘I don’t care what anyone thinks’ attitude.
Kylie Jenner doesn’t bow to expectations even though she’s a role model to young girls.
“I don’t feel like crazy pressure because I always stay true to myself,” Kylie said.
“I always try to encourage girls that look up to me ... to, like, not want to be exactly like me.
“I don’t want to encourage girls to have blue hair and do whatever I do.
“I want to encourage them to just totally be themselves because that’s what I’ve always done.”
For boy advice, Kendall and Kylie turn to Kim, Kourtney and Khloe. So who is the first sister they call?
“It depends on what you’re going through, like, with the guy. It depends on what you’re going through,” Kendall said.
Kylie added: “Right now, I’m talking to Kourtney about my boy advice. But like it’s just for different situations.”
“Or whoever answers the phone first,” Kendall laughed.
KENDALL + KYLIE FOR FOREVER NEW
While they have fashion’s most famous faces on speed dial (Kendall is a muse for Karl Lagerfeld, while their brother-in-law is, of course, the rapper and legitimate fashion designer, Kanye West), Kendall and Kylie said they didn’t seek advice when designing their 19-piece capsule collection for Forever New.
“We like to do it (designing) on our own,” Kendall said.
“We kind of don’t want to take anyone else’s advice and put ourselves into it, so that the customer gets ‘us.’”
Kylie said they wanted the pieces to be “true” to their style.
“I didn’t think we wanted anyone else’s opinion but ours,” Kylie said.
Kendall + Kylie is available at Forever New.
