Rob Irwin ‘splits from secret girlfriend’

Robert Irwin had allegedly been hoping to make things public with his off the radar romance, but it looks like those plans have been squashed.

Robert Irwin has reportedly broken things off with his “secret girlfriend” after just a handful of months of dating.

Irwin was first linked with Australian Zoo worker Charlotte Briggs last July when they arrived in Sydney together.

Reports later emerged claiming the pair had made things official behind closes doors in November.

However, according to the latest reports, Irwin and Briggs called it quits shortly before they made the step to go public.

“It seems like the tide has turned on that,” a source told Daily Mail.

“The itinerary has changed and what has changed for Robert personally is what has many over here suspecting that his post-jungle relationship is over.”

According to the insider, Rob’s mother, Terri Irwin, has been keeping her son too busy to get himself into a serious relationship.

“The plan was to have some time off after IAC wrapped filming,” the insider said.

“However, Terri Irwin has been busy booking her son for more opportunities immediately on his return. Which ruled out any chance of rekindling the romance.”

“I am pretty sure that everyone on the set of I’m A Celebrity noticed Robert was acting more single as the shoot went on,” added the insider.

It comes after Rob hit out at “nasty stories” in the media about his mother.

Last year, he became Julia Morris’ new co-host on I’m A Celebrity following Dr Chris Brown’s departure.

He became an instant hit with fans, even scoring a coveted Gold Logie nomination just months later at the 2024 Logie Awards – becoming the youngest person to ever do so.

“It’s live TV and it’s the biggest adrenaline rush ever. That’s what I love,” Robert gushed over his new TV career in December.

“Life is about pushing yourself and having fun … I’ve learnt a lot. I’ve always wanted to continue the legacy – that’s very important to me, obviously – my dad’s legacy, my family’s legacy. But I want to do it in my own way.”

“At the end of the day, my heart still beats khaki. But to be able to step out and try something different every now and again means the world to me.”
