Natalie Portman still ‘doesn’t know’ if she will leave husband after affair claim

Amid speculation she has left her husband, a source now claims Natalie Portman has yet to make a decision on her marriage.

Star Wars actor Natalie Portman is undecided on whether she will leave her dancer husband Benjamin Millepied amid speculation she has already left him after 11 years of marriage.

The status of the couple’s relationship has come under scrutiny since June after claims Millepied had an affair.

“After news of his affair came out, they’ve been trying to work on their marriage but are currently on the outs,” an insider said, according to the US Weekly.

But a source close to Portman has since shut down rumours the couple have separated saying the actress still “doesn’t know” if she will divorce.

“[Natalie] hates that [Benjamin’s] infidelity has made her feel powerless,” the source, cited by the Daily Mail, said.

“She doesn’t know if she can regain her power by staying with him or leaving him.

“It is really a struggle to have to continue to deal with it.”

According to the publication, the source said the couple are still “really in love” and trying to work things out.

Portman, 42, and Millepied, 46, share son Aleph, 12, and daughter Amalia, 6.

They met in 2009 on the set of thriller Black Swan, on which Millepied was a choreographer.

Portman was spotted without her wedding ring during an Angel City FC event in Sydney on August 4 – the same day as her 11th wedding anniversary.

Weeks earlier the Oscar-winning actress was photographed looking upset while out with the Frenchman.

Reports first circulated in June that Millepied was seeing Camille Etienne, a 25-year-old climate activist and author of For an Ecological Uprising: Overcoming Our Collective Powerlessness.

French magazine Voici published images of Millepied and Étienne in his office. They were seen entering the building separately and then leaving 10 minutes apart almost two hours later.

At the time US Weekly quoted a source saying: “Natalie believes Benjamin’s affair was a brief and stupid liaison that means nothing to him”.

The source added that Portman was “humiliated” by the claims.

Portman was “willing to see if she’s capable of rebuilding her trust” in Millepied to ensure that their kids don’t “grow up in a broken home”, the source added

In February 2011, Portman won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in Black Swan.

During her acceptance speech, she thanked her then-fiance Millepied and pointed to her stomach as she was expecting their first child together.

“To my beautiful love, Benjamin Millepied, who choreographed the film and has now given me my most important role of my life,” she said.
