Emily Ratajkowski has addressed the viral footage of herself making out with Harry Styles in Tokyo last month.

The US supermodel, 31, was filmed sharing a passionate kiss with the British singer amid his back-to-back ‘Love on Tour’ concerts in the Japanese capital, with the engagement captured behind a van in the street.

Speaking to Vogue Spain for the magazine’s cover story, the mother-of-one said it was “bizarre” having the private moment blow up on the internet.

“It’s very bizarre to have certain experiences and then have the whole world know about them and comment on them,” she told the magazine.

“I’m just a person who’s gone from a three-year relationship to a four-year relationship, so this is the first time in a long time that I’ve been in a dating stage.

“The interest there is in that particular area is very strange. Not that I’m surprised, but it’s a tiny slice of my life. The invasion of private aspects is very hard for me.”

The Gone Girl actress also touched on reports that the kiss triggered a falling out with Olivia Wilde, who split from Styles after two years in November.

Ratajkowski spoke to how the media focuses on narratives that scrutinise women. She referenced Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine’s recent cheating scandal, believing the young woman involved was shamed more than Levine, who was the one who had been unfaithful to his wife, Behati Prinsloo.

“These approaches occur over and over again. All my algorithm on this social network showed content focused on sl*t-shaming a 23-year-old girl,” Ratajkowski said.

“I was frustrated with the way in which an attack narrative was being established on this girl, instead of asking what happens to the person [Levine] who is in a relationship and as such has contracted obligations.

“In the case you ask me about [Wilde], it’s more of the same. I feel bad for Olivia, because she has had to suffer this situation on several occasions.”

Ratajkowski was seemingly referencing speculation that Wilde had dumped her partner of almost a decade, Ted Lasso actor Jason Sudeikis, for Styles after meeting the singer on-set of Don’t Worry Darling in 2020, which Wilde strenuously denied.

Pressed further on whether reports of a confrontation with Wilde was “real”, Ratajkowski offered a cryptic response.

“That’s how it is. Just an unfortunate issue,” she said.

Ratajkowski split from her partner Sebastian Bear-McClard late last year. She has since suggested he cheated on her multiple times.

The model, who shares a two-year-old son with her ex, was rumoured to be dating Brad Pitt in the aftermath of her split.

She was later seen on a couple of dates with comedian Pete Davidson in December, though their fling quickly fizzled out.
