Aussie star Anthony LaPaglia splits with third wife
This Aussie actor has split from his third wife after seven years of marriage – shortly after he declared he was selling personal items on Instagram.
After seven years of marriage, Anthony LaPaglia and his third wife, Alexandra Henkel, have called it quits.
According to recent reports, the 66-year-old Without A Trace star’s Jean Dousset client adviser wife filed for divorce this week.
While there are no further details on what might have led to their split, LaPaglia’s wife, who is 30 years his junior, listed “irreconcilable differences” as the reason on their official documents filed on September 11th.
It is believed that Henkel is seeking spousal support from the star and has requested for their assets – namely their home in Los Angeles – to be divided equally. She has, however, requested to keep some sentimental items from their marriage, including her engagement ring, a Rolex watch and other pieces of valuable jewellery.
Hints of a split can be dated back to as early as July this year, when LaPaglia mysteriously shared on social media that he was offloading some of his personal items.
“Culling my personal watch collection … a small selection of 250 have gotta go!” he shared on Instagram on July 17th, along with an image of a black and red Von Dutch watch in it’s original case.
It remains as the most recent post shared by the star, with comments switched off to avoid any speculation as to why he was selling these items.
The last time LaPaglia shared an image of his now former wife was in February 2023, when he posted an image of Henkel and their pet dog.
“With my baby and our baby on my birthday,” he captioned the shot, complete with a red love heart.
The recent split marks the Emmy Award-winning actor’s third divorce, his most recent being from actress Gia Carides who he was married to for 17 years and shares a 22-year-old daughter with.
LaPaglia reportedly became close with Henkel around the same time as his split with his second wife after meeting in a bar in Prahan, Melbourne.
They became engaged after a romantic trip to Paris, which Henkel has previously shared to be one of the most romantic evenings of her life.
“Anthony and I were staying at the Plaza Athénée Hotel. As we were preparing to head out for dinner, I was doing my make-up and turned around to find Anthony on bended knee. I said yes immediately,” she told Vogue.
They later married in a romantic garden ceremony in Maui, Hawaii in 2018.
