Aussie influencer Veruca Salt splits from husband she married after just two weeks: ‘Fell for lies’

Gold Coast influencer Veruca Salt has publicly blasted her ex as she revealed they’d split just weeks after their whirlwind wedding.

An Aussie influencer has dramatically ended her whirlwind marriage with an explosive public statement calling her ex a “compulsive liar” and “scammer”, just weeks after their wedding.

Kimberley Summer Hartley, known as Veruca Salt online, stunned her more than 2 million followers last month with the news she’d married her partner in Las Vegas, 14 days after they first met.

The 26-year-old took to social media on Thursday to share the news of their split, claiming she “fell for his lies”.

“I can’t say too much right now but I just want to apologise for uplifting a man that is a compulsive liar and scammer,” the Gold Coast-born influencer wrote in a message posted to her story.

“I will be leaving him and leaving LA to return to my beautiful home in Australia.

“If [you] purchased anything through his website please dm me so I can give that money back to [you]. Again, I’m very sorry about this. I fell for his lies.”

Later, she elaborated on the situation in a separate post.

“I really hope this doesn’t get messy with back and forth posting about each other,” Hartley said.

“ … The things that have happen [sic] over the past 2 and a half months have been a whirlwind and have definitely changed me in ways I didn’t know possible.”

She added: “I hope [you] can forgive me for being a stupid idiot as I have been many times in the past.”

Hartley finished up her statement with a direct request to her estranged partner, asking him not to “post anything negative”, and claiming he’d spoken about her late son Cash, who died early last year from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

“Please don’t post anything negative about me [because] once I open my mouth about what you said about my son … it’ll be over,” Salt said.

“And we both know that’s just the tip of the iceberg.”

The dramatic development comes just one month after she unveiled the unexpected news of her marriage to her fans, posting a video titles, “GRWM to marry a man I met 2 weeks ago”.

Hartley then shared a series of pictures of herself with her new husband – who goes by @digiipremium online – at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Vegas, admitting it was “crazy”.

“I know this is crazy, but it’s fun, isn’t it?” she said in the two-minute clip.

“I met my man on the 28th of September, and today is October 12. Y’all do the math on that one.”.

“There’s just a feeling in me that this is the path I’m supposed to take,” she said, adding that she was “scared” but that “when you know, you know.”
