‘Exploiting’: Questionaire about Travis Kelce’s podcast divides Taylor Swift fans

Swift fans weren’t happy that the pop singer was being dragged into a marketing campaign and went as far as calling it “gross”.

A questionnaire about Travis Kelce’s podcast New Heights, which he co-hosts with his brother Jason, has offended Taylor Swift fans.

The platform Wondery Network hosts the podcast, which soared in popularity after Kelce and Swift started dating in 2023, released a questionnaire on the podcast surveying what attracts listeners to the show.

The questionnaire asked listeners why they started listening to the podcast and fans weren’t happy with the references to the pop singer.

While listeners can choose options like “I was drawn to the football-specific commentary” or “the Kelce family dynamic,” the survey also references Swift.

One option listeners could select was, “I was drawn to the prospect of hearing details and clues about Taylor Swift’s life and her relationship with Travis”, and “I like feeling like part of a community that supports Taylor’s happiness” outside of her music.

Swift fans weren’t happy that the pop singer was being dragged into a marketing campaign and went as far as calling it “gross” because there were so many questions about the singer.

Another fan said doing a survey like that was “exploiting” Travis and Taylor’s romantic relationship and dubbed it “disgusting”.

Someone else claimed that while some questions were “weird” it made sense because the podcast is simply looking for feedback.

Another claimed it was “gross” and said there were “better and more tasteful ways” to ask about the podcasts listening demographic.

One fan argued that it is just “normal market research” and someone else claimed people need to “stop being dramatic” over a questionnaire.

Someone else said it was “pathetic clout chasing” from Kelce, but others pointed out it was unlikely the NFL player even knew about the questions being asked.

The outcry comes after Kelce shared that the singer “listens every week” to the podcast. Swift was seen showing support for the podcast at Coachella in 2024 by wearing a hat with the podcast’s name emblazoned on it.

Kelce and Swift aren’t particularly private about their romance, and are frequently seen supporting each other, whether Kelce is seen at the VIP section of one of Swift’s sold-out shows or Swift is seen cheering at one of his games.

While Kelce, 35, often tries to avoid answering questions about Swift, he did open up about falling in love with her on the Bussin With The Boys podcast.

Kelce praised his girlfriend for being “very self-aware” and said that while they try to keep things private, they’re also not trying to hide their romance.

“I think that’s why I started to really fall for her, was how genuine she is around friends, family. It can get crazy for somebody with that much attention, and she just keeps it so chill and so cool. And that’s what I can admire for sure,” he said.
