Rupert Everett is spilling the royal tea on Prince Harry’s anecdote about losing his virginity to an “older woman” behind a “busy pub”.
The My Best Friend’s Wedding star challenged the red-headed royal’s tale in an interview with the Telegraph published this week, claiming he knew the truth.
“By the way, I know who the woman he lost his virginity to is. And it wasn’t behind a pub. And it wasn’t in this country,” Everett, 63, said “with a twinkle in his eye”, according to the British newspaper.
“I’m just putting it out there that I know,” he added.
A source close to Harry, however, told the publication, “Amazing that [Everett] would know such a personal detail better than Prince Harry himself.”
The Duke of Sussex, 38, claimed in his bombshell memoir, Spare, that his first time having sex was a “quick” romp, but he did not reveal when it happened nor with whom.
“She liked horses, quite a lot, and treated me not unlike a young stallion,” he wrote.
“Quick ride, after which she’d smacked my rump and sent me to grace.”
Rumours have swirled that actress Elizabeth Hurley, who is 19 years older than Harry, took the prince’s virginity when he was a teenager, but she vehemently denied the speculation in December, weeks before his book’s release.
Harry dated businesswoman Chelsy Davy on and off from 2004 to 2011. He was later romantically linked to late TV host Caroline Flack, singer Ellie Goulding and actress Cressida Bonas before meeting his now-wife, Meghan Markle, in 2016.
In his memoir, Harry admitted that his late grandmother Queen Elizabeth II’s opinion of Davy, who enjoyed tequila, had played a role in their split.
“She didn’t care what anyone thought. She wore miniskirts and high-heeled boots, danced however she wanted, drank tequila like me, and all of this made me really happy,” he wrote of Davy.
