Honoured to be considered among an array of big businesses and long-term therapists, Kate Duncan was shocked to learn she was voted the region’s best beauty therapist.
Owner of small business Serum Skin Studio on Margaret Street, Mrs Duncan is dedicated to her loyal clients, who she said were the focus of her business.
“I’m very much a left-lane business where I don't have a huge social media following, I keep my private life private and I”m not out on the social scene, like a lot of other community business owners are,” she said.
“I like to just do what I do well and quietly.
“It’s all about the clients. I put a lot into making sure my clients have a space they can come to where it’s relaxed, private and comfortable.”
Mrs Duncan began the business about three years ago after operating various businesses in the city over the past eight years.
She is always looking at ways to learn and grow, and is proud to have a client list that consist of both male and females.
“It’s nice to be recognised by your clients and it goes to show if you do the right thing by your clients and do something you love, the rewards will come around,” she said.
Serum Skin Studio offers an array of treatments including sugar hair removal, teeth whitening and facials.
