Travelling to Italy may not be an option in the near future, but a brand new restaurant in Toowoomba might be the next best thing.

Amalfi Cafe Restaurant, an authentic Italian restaurant owned by Italians, operated by Italians, with chefs from Italy has catapulted to success since opening its doors.

Owner Pasquale De Vita said the reason is simple.

“We opened the restaurant because Toowoomba needed another Italian restaurant,” he said.

“We have quality food.

“It’s 95 per cent from Italy, so we try to have quality food and a quality kitchen.”

The restaurant opened its doors on September 10, and already has been flooded with customers.

“It’s been good, we’ve got a lot of good reviews,” Mr De Vita said.

“The customers love it, we had some customers who came in five days in a row.”

Amalfi boasts an extensive menu and wine list with the very best wines straight from the old country.

From sweet treats like canolis to classic pizza and pasta dishes, the restaurant has brought the very best of the popular cuisine to the streets of Toowoomba.

Mr De Vita, who moved to Toowoomba from the Amalfi Coast last year, said among the best items on the menu are the Linguine and the Pizza Vesuvio.
