AM5 highlights 10 key targets at its Queensland uranium project
The Queens Gift Project hosts a uranium resource estimate completed in 2011 with assays up to 2,298 ppm U3O8
The company aims to narrow down targets for future drilling
Special Report: Antares Metals has defined priority uranium targets for follow up exploration at its Mt Isa North project in Queensland.
Mark Connelly-chaired Antares has the Surprise copper project along with the Mt Isa North project in the region, giving investors exposure to multi-commodity potential.
And now, thanks to a data review, the company has highlighted a total of 49 targets – 10 high priority – that share characteristics with albitite style, shear-hosted uranium mineralisation as seen at the nearby Valhalla uranium deposit.
Notably, several prospects (Queens Gift, Joker and Skevi) have been drill tested by previous explorers and yielded very encouraging results such as 11m at 1,051ppm uranium from 287m including 4m at 2,298ppm at Queens Gift.
A complete data compilation for drill assay results is underway and several prospects have never been drill tested but share similar geological characteristics to those that have been tested.
Antares Metals (ASX:AM5) said this highlighted the strong potential of the uranium prospectivity at Mt Isa North.

Doubling down on potential drill targets
The Queens Gift, Tjilpa-Monte Bello and Ecotte prospect areas will be the initial focus of Antares’s uranium exploration efforts.
The Tjilpa-Monte Bello prospect in particular shares the geology of the Bikini and Skal cluster of uranium deposits owned by Paladin Energy (ASX:PDN).
"For the first half of 2025, Antares has focused on its copper prospects and further activities are planned to continue advancing them, such as the third phase of drilling at Surprise and fieldwork at Conglomerate Creek,” CEO Johan Lambrechts said.
“The company has also progressed target reviews on its uranium prospects and is pleased to now outline our priorities for follow-up exploration.
“We plan to undertake ground truthing and spectrometry grids on the initial targets as soon as possible.”
The ultimate goal is to drill test the best anomalies, and look to upgrading the Queens Gift resource estimate to JORC 2012 compliance, as this was originally released by Deep Yellow (ASX:DYL) back in 2011.
Prospects like Skevi and Joker, which have already been drill tested, are also considered extremely important and may move up the ranking ladder once all data has been reviewed and ground truthing has been completed.
