“First day on-site today at The Spotted Cow Hotel, giving it some much-needed loving in conjunction with What’s On Project (shopfitter),” the post said.

It comes a few weeks after Hallmark Group announced it had bought the classic venue on Ruthven St for an undisclosed amount.

Company director Scott Hempel, who grew up on the Darling Downs, had previously said he wanted to deliver a great dining experience.

“The gaming room will be completely gutted, the sports bar will be adjusted as well, with a big screen for major sporting events,” Mr Hempel said.

“There will be extensive renovations inside and out, but we definitely want to keep that classic charm.”

The venue is due to open later next month.
