It’s the Toowoomba CBD’s newest cafe – and the business has already found a way to give back to the community.

What Connor Argus and his partner Bree Will enjoy most in cafes are those with a sense of community.
And that’s what they want to do with their new venture – Junktion Coffee House.
The couple opened their new business earlier this month, located on the corner of Neil and Bowen Sts in the space that was once Pony Espresso.
The aim is to create an all-inclusive space that doesn’t break the bank.
And the business is already giving back to the community – through donations of leftover stock at the end of each day and the creation of a pay-it-forward coffee program for Protea Place women’s support centre.
“I just think what (Protea Place) are doing is fantastic,” Mr Argus explained.
The 23-year-old has previously worked in hospitality as a cook and said the decision to open a cafe was straightforward.
“We saw it for sale and thought why not? We’ll have a go,” he said.
“It’s something different and exciting.”
The place was given a bit of a spruce up in the weeks before they opened, and they bought a new coffee machine and grinder to go with their own brand of beans they get through Somerset Coffee.
Since opening, Junktion, Mr Argus said the business had received plenty of support from friends and family, and from local businesses in Bowen St and the immediate surrounds.
“They’re becoming our regular customers, which is great,” he said.
Mr Argus said there was a new menu on its way in roughly two weeks time.
“It’ll be really simple, and I’m just trying my hardest to make sure everything’s locally sourced,” he said.
In the meantime the cafe has plenty of fresh sandwiches, salads, and wraps ready to go daily to accompany its coffee offering.
