Young entrepreneurs buy second Zarraffa’s Coffee shop after huge success in Toowoomba

Customers rave about the coffee and service of a popular Toowoomba cafe and now its young owners have purchased another coffee shop, and this time it comes with a bustling drive-through.

New study shows coffee is good for the heart

Two young entrepreneurial friends have smashed their business goals, buying a second bustling coffee shop within three years of owning and operating their first store.

Ashley Byers and Jordan Wyborn purchased Zarraffa’s Coffee Toowoomba North in 2017, and it has gone from success to success – with the store winning national awards, being named the best coffee and cafe multiple times in The Chronicle’s Best Of series, and the pair appearing in The Chronicle’s Power 100 series.

Customers rave about not only the coffee, but the exceptional customer service.

Now, they have taken the leap and purchased another Zarraffa’s Coffee store in Redbank Plains, this time with a drive-through.

Mr Byers said owning a second store had given the team another fresh and exciting challenge.

“Owning two stores is an incredible feeling, and we know all the hard work and dedication from not just ourselves but our Toowoomba North team has truly paid off,” he said.

“A second store was always in our long-term goal with the company as we want to be able to continue our growth within the brand and giving our staff members a chance to continue their career within our growing company.

“Redbank Plains was an exciting opportunity that came in our path and couldn’t turn it down.”

Mr Byers said the new store was different to the Toowoomba North store as it is one of the new-look Zarraffa’s Coffee.

“From the dark timber finishes to the booth seating with phone charging ports to the new equipment helping to make speed of service and quality even faster,” he said.

“Handling two stores is crazy but we love crazy and wouldn’t have been able to do it without our strong management and team members in our Toowoomba North.”

He said the main tip for anyone who is interested in starting or owning a business at a young age would be to ensure they were passionate about what they’re getting into.

“In business you will go through great times and many hard times in different areas but in the end of the day if your passionate in what you do that is enough motivation to wake up every morning and continue on your journey,” he said.

“Another great tip would be to get in contact with people in similar business areas to discuss what has worked for them and what hasn’t. We have done this numerous times with different franchisees and have gained some great knowledge from experienced franchisees, from marketing ideas to staff training.”

Mr Byers and Mr Wyborn plan to continue growing within the Zarraffa’s Coffee community.
