Whether it’s an old classic or one of her own delicious creations, cocktail making is something of an art form for Toowoomba bartender Astrid Flanigan.

The leading drink creator at the Spotted Cow celebrated World Bartender Day this week with a showcase of some of her best creations.

The eight-year hospitality veteran said the most popular request was an easy choice, no matter where she worked.

“Definitely espresso martinis, we’ll just make rounds and rounds of them — it’s nothing for us to make a dozen of them on a weekend,” Ms Flanigan said.

While much of her training was done on the job, Ms Flanigan said she spent time reading up on cocktails to refine her craft.

“I’m good at providing service, I’m good at making drinks, I enjoy making things with my hands and crafting something for an individual to enjoy,” she said.

She urged patrons to tip their bartenders if they felt they were going the extra mile.
