Aldi tops Canstar Blue’s Supermarket Satisfaction Ratings for 2024

Satisfied customers have crowned this supermarket the best for the 7th year in a row.

Aldi has been crowned Australia’s best customer rated supermarket for the 7th time in a row.

Canstar Blue’s Supermarket Satisfaction Ratings found Aldi had the most satisfied supermarket shoppers in 2024.

The supermarket was also the only one to score five stars for its value for money, freshness of produce, availability of deals and specials, store layout and presentation and quality of its owned branded products.

Aldi Australia Group Director Simon Padovani-Ginies said the supermarket group is proud to continue delivering excellent service for customers at a time when they need it the most during a cost of living crisis.

“Being credited as the only five-star rated supermarket for overall satisfaction shows our day-in-day-out commitment to delivering market-leading prices on high quality goods is resonating with our shoppers,” Mr Padovani-Ginies said.

Canstar Blue’s Editor-in-Chief Christine Seib said Aldi has topped the customer satisfaction ratings for the past seven years.

“Canstar Blue surveys consumers to rate brands in more than 300 product and service categories on their own customer satisfaction levels, and brands that top those ratings for more than a year or two are rare,” Ms Seib said.

“That makes Aldi’s domination of the Most Satisfied Customers – Supermarkets award for seven consecutive years not only an unusually strong performance from any brand but also a testament to its consistent delivery of what Australian customers want from a supermarket.”

Ms Seib said it was also impressive Aldi maintained its five-star satisfaction scores in five categories for 2024.

“Aldi managed to do this at a time when customers’ budgets are strained by rising costs of living and competition between supermarket brands to attract and retain those increasingly cautious shoppers is particularly high,” she said.

“ In fact, Canstar Blue’s survey found that ALDI’s customers reported a lower weekly grocery bill than the customers of all other major supermarket chains.”
